Joy Behar spoke out on Thursday to claim that she has lost 25 pounds thanks to weight loss drugs. This has caused her to “love” her body at 83 years of age.
Behar made this revelation as she and her co-host Whoopi Goldberg defended weight loss drugs on their ABC talk show The View. They did this in response to the plus-sized model Ashley Graham recently condemning the growing use of weight loss drugs, otherwise known as GLP-1s.
Goldberg, Behar Defend Weight Loss Drugs
Goldberg, 70, has long been open about her use of the weight loss drug Mounjaro. According to Goldberg, Graham told Marie Claire last week that the growing trend of using weight loss drugs is “’a smack in the face’ to the body positivity movement.” Graham allegedly went on to say that “it puts the focus back on being skinny rather than loving your body.”
“I don’t agree, but I’ll put it to you,” Goldberg began in response as she threw the discussion over to her co-hosts.
Behar immediately chimed in to defend weight loss drugs.
“I don’t agree with that. I love my body ever since I lost 25 pounds,” Behar quipped. The audience could not help but burst out laughing at this.
Co-host Sara Haines, however, could see where Graham was coming from.
“It did put body image not health back in the frontlines,” said Haines, 48. “I think what she’s referencing is so mnany people who didn’t need it for health reasons, you’re seeing them disappear.”
“It’s in your face and sadly it doesn’t eliminate body noise,” she added.
Goldberg fired back by claiming that the body positivity movement can continue even with weight loss drugs being around.
“Because it doesn’t work for everybody, body positivity is not gone. You still have to encourage people to love themselves. This is still part of what you’re doing,” she argued. “Some people didn’t have that body love and they have it now, because they see a different them.”
“I think you have to celebrate the people it works for and celebrate the people it may not work for,” Goldberg concluded. “And that’s where you’re coming in to remind people that it’s about loving you.”

Goldberg, Behar’s Previous Weight Comments
This isn’t the first time that Behar and Goldberg have bragged about losing weight thanks to GLP-1s. Indeed, they also talked about this in a February episode of The View.
“I did it because I was almost 300 pounds. and I’m looking good now!” Goldberg boasted.
“We all did it!” Behar exclaimed after saying that she’s lost 25 pounds.
Back in 2024, Goldberg and Behar were quick to defend the singer Kelly Clarkson after she was criticized for using a prescription medication to lose weight.
“They kick her behind when she’s bigger, they kick her behind when she’s lost the weight, and now they’re kicking her behind because she said it out loud,” Goldberg said at the time.
“Diets do not work. I’ve been on diets up and down, up and down. You lose it, then you gain it back,” Behar alleged. “Nobody wants to be fat except a sumo wrestler. It’s uncomfortable, your clothes don’t fit, everybody wants to lose weight.”
Behar and Goldberg are clearly two of the biggest supporters of weight loss drugs out there. Only time will tell if they can each keep the weight that they’ve lost off long-term!
