The comedian Joy Behar celebrated her 83rd birthday on her ABC talk show The View on Tuesday, October 7. There, things got weird when Behar marked this occasion with a statement that was nothing short of bizarre.
‘My Holes Are Dried Up…’
Behar, 83, celebrated her birthday by holding a tag sale. On The View, she attempted to sell off her personal clip-on earrings. Indeed, she did so by revealing the strange reason she chooses to wear clip-on jewelry.
“In honor of my 39th birthday, it’s time for my annual birthday tag sale,” Behar said. “And because I’m such a giver, every one of you can get in on the fun because we have some personal items that belong to me and my co-hosts.”
“Now, I have a fabulous collection of clip-on earrings,” she continued. “Whenever I see them, I buy them, because my holes are dried up.”
WHAT?!
Not stopping there, Behar proceeded to show off her Oscar de la Renta clip-on earrings. She revealed that she’d bought them at a yard sale from a couple who were getting a divorce.
“So touching, isn’t it?” Behar quipped. Her co-host Sara Haines, 48, surmised that the earrings “carry luck with them.”
“If you get these, you might get a divorce, so it might be worth to buy them,” Behar fired back.
Getting serious, Behar told the audience that proceeds from this tag sale will go to one of her “favorite charities,” The Retreat. This is a nonprofit that provides safety and support for victims of domestic abuse.
Behar’s Co-Hosts Weigh In
Behar clearly enjoyed celebrating her birthday with her fellow co-hosts. She particularly liked it when her co-host Whoopi Goldberg, 69, joked that she was turning 23 instead of 83.
“You know, 25 years ago, or whenever it was, I was on the show with Rosie O’Donnell,” Behar recalled. “When was that, 40 years ago? She said, ‘Tell your age.’ I said, ‘It gives me vertigo.’ So, can you imagine the vertigo I have now?”
“You make it look good, Joy,” Haines chimed back in to say. “I would own that and fly that flag.”

Behar’s Bizarre Ghost Story
During this same episode of The View, Behar and her co-hosts sat down with the former Parks and Recreation actress Aubrey Plaza. Indeed, she was there to promote her new children’s book about Halloween.
In this interview, the co-hosts recalled the bizarre 2022 moment in which Behar claimed that she once slept with a ghost. Behar made this outrageous claim while talking about a Texas woman who claims that ghosts flirt with her.
The woman in question was living in a home that was previously a brothel. She claimed that she was being “haunted” there by “sexual” ghosts. The co-hosts played a clip of the woman explaining her alleged predicament.
“So, let me help you out here,” Behar said afterwards with a smile. “She’s having a sexual hallucination, which, you know, we all have them.”
“I’ve had sex with a few ghosts and never got pregnant,” she continued.
Behar’s co-hosts played this clip again for her this week.
“I was making it up,” Behar confusedly said in response. “It must’ve been a dream. I was having a dream.”
“I’m a shapeshifter and I was the ghost you had sex with,” Plaza jokingly told Behar.
“Wait until they get a load of that on Entertainment Weekly,” Behar concluded. “If you thought the ghost was bad, this’ll be hot. This is hot stuff.”
