The former First Lady Jill Biden just suffered a humiliating public $35,000 fail.

Biden Left Humiliated

Biden reportedly bid $35,000 for a walk-on role on the gay hockey drama Heated Rivalry’s second season. The show is known for its graphic gay sex scenes.

Biden made this bid on Thursday night while attending the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center’s annual fundraising dinner in New York City.

“The former First Lady, just minutes ago during the live auction at the NYC LGBT Community Center’s Center Dinner, bid $35,000 to have a walk-on role in the queer hockey series’ second season along with a dinner with the cast, according to sources,” reported Variety.

Unfortunately for Biden, however, she was left humiliated when “she was outbid. The package ending up selling twice to two bidders at $125,000 each.”

Biden later addressed this on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Guess I won’t be heading to the cottage after all—but it was worth a shot! What a wonderful evening supporting @LGBTCenterNYC,” Biden wrote.

Heated Rivalry Highlighted At Fundraiser

Biden received a standing ovation at the start of the dinner.

Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney was honored at the gala. His producing partner Brendan Brady, who was not at the dinner, was honored as well. Rachel Reid, who wrote the series of books that Heated Rivalry is based on, presented the Cultural Impact Award to them.

“Tierney and Brady have elevated and centered queer characters as fully realized leads whose desires, conflicts and tenderness are treated with dignity,” Center CEO Dr. Carla Smith said before the event. “By championing our voices, they have brought queer joy and storytelling to the mainstream media. And have created work that affirms and advances our community.”

Smith later said that the gala brought in over $2 million for the organization’s programs serving LGBTQ+ New Yorkers. During the event, she claimed that the community is “witnessing a generational attack on the freedoms that our elders fought to win.”

“But if we’ve learned anything over the years, it’s this: never bet against our community,” she said.

Heated Rivalry

Season two of Heated Rivalry is set to air on HBO Max in April of 2027. The show tells the story of two rival professional hockey players, Canada-born Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Russia-born Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), who secretly fall in love with each other.

“I just hope that people — no matter what you think you need to be in life or what is expected of you — just be yourself. Even if that breaks some sort of boundary, even if there’s not a word for it. Even if there’s not space for that in whatever realm you live in. Just be that,” Storrie previously told The Hollywood Reporter of his hopes for people’s takeaway from the series.

“Fight for yourself like your best friend, and don’t be ashamed of anything that exists within yourself,” Williams added.

Biden and her husband, the former President Joe Biden, have long been outspoken supporters of the LGBT community. Given how much Biden was willing to pay to get on this gay television show, it’s likely that she was not expecting to get outbid.

Sorry, Jill Biden, but this was yet another fail for you. Sad!
