It’s been one year since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce after just two years of marriage. On Tuesday night, Lopez referenced their divorce during the first night of her Las Vegas residency.
Lopez References Affleck Divorce
Lopez, 56, performed the first of her Up All Night concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Tuesday night. There, she reflected on how her life has changed since her last Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater.
“It’s such a huge honor to be asked back. Do you know that it’s been 10 years, 10 years since my last residency here. Almost 10 years to the day. It was in January. That went by in a blink, didn’t it?” Lopez told the crowd.
“And in that time, I’ve only been married twice,” she continued as the crowd laughed.
“That’s not true. It was only once. It felt like twice,” Lopez added, only causing more laughter. ““I’m just kidding. I’m just kidding. It’s over and we just, it’s fine.”
“It’s all good,” Lopez concluded. “The good news is that I’m learning and I’m growing and we’re in our happy era. I’m in my happy era.”

Lopez And Affleck’s History
Though they were only married for two years, Lopez and Affleck’s love story goes back decades.
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Indeed, she married the singer Marc Anthony while he married the former Alias star Jennifer Garner.
Lopez and Anthony were married from 2004 until 2014. During their marriage, Lopez gave birth to twins who are now 17.
Meanwhile, Affleck was married to Garner from 2005 until 2018. They welcomed three children during their marriage.
Lopez and Affleck reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They then married in July of 2022.
Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Lopez filed for divorce in August of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.
Lopez And Affleck Reunite
Despite their split, Lopez and Affleck are still on good terms. Last month, Lopez reunited with Affleck and his son Samuel, 13, for some Christmas shopping and lunch at Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles. A source told People Magazine that the former couple “seemed fine.” The insider added that their main focus appeared to be on Samuel.
“They met up and went shopping together. Jen and Ben seemed fine,” the insider alleged. “The focus was mostly on Sam.”
“He was excited and chatty. They shopped for gifts in several high-end stores,” the source continued. “Jen asked a lot of questions and picked up gifts for Ben’s kids. They arrived and left separately.”
Judging by Lopez’s latest comments, it seem that she still might not be over her split from Affleck. Here’s hoping she can move on as she starts 2026!
