Jennifer Lopez has had a difficult year that started with the heartbreak of her finalizing her divorce from her fellow Hollywood star Ben Affleck.

Now, things have gotten even worse for Lopez, as she’s being publicly bashed by a former co-star of hers. Indeed, insiders are saying that Lopez has been left “surprised and hurt” by what her former co-star had to say about her in a new interview.

Lopez Humiliated By Former Co-Star

Lopez, 56, starred alongside Luis Guzmán, 69, in the 1998 movie Out of Sight. Last week, Guzmán seemingly shaded Lopez during an appearance on Hot Ones Versus. There, Guzmán was asked for “one word that best describes” some of his previous co-stars.

First, Guzmán was asked for one word to describe his Anger Management co-star Adam Sandler.

“Amazing,” was the word that he came up with.

Next, Guzmán was questioned about his Wednesday co-star Catherine Zeta-Jones.

“Bellisima,” he replied.

Guzmán’s mood immediately changed, however, when he was asked for one word to describe Lopez.

“OK,” he deadpanned in response.

Ouch, that has got to sting for Lopez!

Check out the uncomfortable moment for yourself in the video below. Based on the way Guzmán said “OK,” there’s seemingly no love lost between him and Lopez!

Lopez ‘Hurt’ By Guzmán’s Comments

After a difficult stretch of months, this has reportedly hit Lopez hard. Insiders are claiming that Lopez has been left “surprised and hurt” by what she feels was Guzmán’s “unnecessary” jab.

A source told Rob Shuter’s #Shuterscoop that Lopez was shocked by Guzmán’s comments because she remembers him as being “funny, warm, and a great collaborator.” Lopez reportedly had a “different experience” working with him on their 1998 movie compared to how he feels about collaborating with her.

Despite this, Lopez will allegedly be taking the high road in this situation. According to the insider, Lopez is in a “totally different headspace now.” That’s why she’s focused on walking away instead of engaging with brutal jabs like this one.

These days, Lopez is prioritizing “her kids, her career, and living with positivity.” A second source concluded by claiming that Lopez “wishes him [Guzmán] well” because that’s “who she is today” and has no intentions of “looking backward.”

Lopez’s Brutal Divorce

This comes after a year of heartbreak for Lopez. Though she was only married to Affleck for two years, their love story goes back decades.

Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.

Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Affleck married Jennifer Garner, an actress best known for starring in the hit TV show Alias, in 2005. They had three children together before they divorced in 2018.

Meanwhile, Lopez married the singer Marc Anthony, staying with him from 2004 until they divorced in 2014. He’s the father of her 17 year-old twins.

Lopez and Affleck reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They went on to marry in July of 2022.

Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Lopez filed for divorce in August of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year, as we previously stated. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.

After this embarrassing and brutal divorce, it’s no surprise that Lopez is trying to focus on her future right now. While Guzmán’s comments were definitely a setback for her, here’s hoping that Lopez can put this behind her and continue on with her journey towards a positive mindset!
