Yesterday was the one year anniversary of Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck. Their divorce was finalized in January of this year.
Now, insiders are saying that Lopez, 56, has bounced back since this painful divorce.
Lopez Has ‘Come A Long Way’
“She’s been having the time of her life this summer,” an insider told People Magazine. “She loved connecting with fans all over the world. The tour was amazing. It’s been a great focus for her. She’s been doing what she really enjoys.”
This was a reference to Lopez’s Up All Night tour, which has seen her travel the world performing all summer.
Meanwhile, heading into the fall, Lopez is preparing to start promoting her new movie Kiss of the Spider Woman.
“This is the movie she filmed last year in New York when she and Ben were going through a difficult time,” the source explained. “She’s come a long way since. She’s very happy and just grateful for her life.”
Lopez herself recently opened up about what it was like to film this movie as her divorce was unfolding.
“It was one of the most beautiful moviemaking experiences I’ve ever had, and also at a difficult time in my life,” Lopez told Out Magazine. “But it … just filled a part of me that was waiting to kind of come alive for so long.”

Lopez And Affleck’s History
Though they were only married for two years, Lopez and Affleck’s love story goes back decades.
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Affleck married Jennifer Garner, an actress best known for starring in the hit TV show Alias, in 2005. They had three children together before they divorced in 2018.
Meanwhile, Lopez married the singer Marc Anthony, staying with him from 2004 until they divorced in 2014. He’s the father of her 17 year-old twins.
Lopez and Affleck reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They went on to marry in July of 2022. Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Lopez filed for divorce in August of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year, as we previously stated. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.
Lopez’s New Year’s Plans
Lopez is planning to end 2025 by bringing her Up All Night tour to Las Vegas. Indeed, she has a residency that is scheduled to run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from December 30 through January 3. Lopez announced this residency back in May.
