Dirty Dancing’s Jennifer Grey posted a topless beach snap of herself and Tracy Pollan to mark the latter’s 66th birthday.
Birthday Post
The sizzling shot from the 1980s, posted on Monday, caused 66-year-old Jennifer’s Instagram followers’ pulses to race after they saw her in pink bikini bottoms while her school pal Tracy opted for a pair of pink ones.
Quoting 73-year-old Cyndi Lauper’s 1984 hit, Time After Time, the upload was captioned, “Happy birthday @tracy.pollan. Friendship like this is ‘if you fall I will catch you, I’ll be waiting… time after time!”
Mum of four Tracy, who married her NBC Family Ties co-star Michael J. Fox, 65, in 1988, reacted to the photo in the post’s comments section, first saying, “Hahahaha I love you!!,” before she left three red-heart emojis in a separate reply.
Some of Jennifer and Tracy’s fans complimented their pair on their washboard abs, as one penned, “What 1980s exercises were you ladies doing to get abs like that? Happy friendship day to you both.”
A second supporter typed, “Shredded.”
And a third follower wrote, “Amazing shapes on these Ladies.”
Best Friends Since the 70s
Tracy and mum of one Jennifer, who was married to The Avengers‘ Clark Gregg, 64, from 2001 until 2021, have been best pals since they met as classmates at the private Dalton School in Manhattan, New York City, in the late 1970s.
After school, the duo was cast in a 1984 ABC Afterschool Special, The Great Love Experiment, before they embarked on their respective careers in Hollywood.
Grey’s Nose Job Struggles
The carefree beach shot of Tracy and Jennifer is a contrast to four years ago, when the latter admitted that she “no longer” felt like herself following a nose job.
The Ferris Bueller’s Day Off alum had two rhinoplasty surgeries after finding fame, but it led to her being “banished” from Hollywood.
In April 2022, Jennifer told People, “I spent so much energy trying to figure out what I did wrong, why I was banished from the kingdom. That’s a lie. I banished myself. And it became the thing, the idea of being completely invisible, from one day to the next. In the world’s eyes, I was no longer me.”
“And the weird thing was that thing that I resisted my whole life, and the thing I was so upset with my mother for always telling me I should do my nose.”
“I really thought it was capitulating. I really thought it meant surrendering to the enemy camp. … just thought, ‘I’m good enough. … shouldn’t have to do this.’ That’s really what I felt. ‘I’m beautiful enough.'”
Against Nose Jobs at First
Jennifer was against nose jobs before her mom told her it was necessary for her career.
The Reckless cast member said, “She loves me, loved me, always has, and she was pragmatic because she was saying, ‘Guess what? It’s too hard to cast you. Make it easier for them.'”
“And then I did, and she was right. It wasn’t like, ‘You’re not pretty.’ It’s like, ‘Guess what? If you don’t want to be an actor, OK. But if you wanna be an actor…'”
“But when I was a kid, I was completely anti-rhinoplasty. I mean, it was like my religion. I loved that my parents did it. [Underwent rhinoplasty] I understand it was the 50s. I understand they were assimilating.”
