The country music star Jelly Roll is admitting that he’s struggling with isolation and illness on his grueling foreign tour. In fact, he’s at one of the lowest points he’s been in for years as he deals with being so far away from his family and support system.
‘I’m Falling Apart…’
Jelly Roll, 40, opened up about this while being interviewed in Australia last week on the “No Filter with Kate Langbroek” podcast. There, Jelly Roll made no secret of the fact that he’s going through a difficult time.
“I’m falling apart. It’s a horrible week,” Jelly Roll lamented. “I’m doing the worst mentally I’ve done in a long time.”
“I’m really far from home. And it’s really hitting me that I’m really far from home, like in an anxious way,” he continued. “I’m not having fun, and I want to go home.”
Jelly Roll made his debut in Australia on October 25. He then performed five more shows there through November 4.
From there, Jelly Roll headed to Auckland, New Zealand for a scheduled concert on November 8. However, he canceled it at the last minute due to illness. This came as a shock to Jelly Roll fans, as he’s known to rarely miss his performances.
‘I Miss My Family A Ton…’
In his latest interview, Jelly Roll explained that his physical illness had an extremely negative impact on his already fragile mental state. He revealed that the grueling foreign trip messed “my stomach up.”
“When my stomach’s not right, nothing’s right,” Jelly Roll lamented. “My mind’s not right. Everything. I’m just not thinking clear.”
Traveling around Australia has also left Jelly Roll feeling more isolated than he’s felt in a long time. This has made worse by travel logistics that include not having any tour buses.
“I’m having to be super isolated. I don’t like it,” he later confessed. “I’m spending a lot of time in my hotel room by myself, just in my head. I don’t like it. I miss my family a ton.”
Jelly Roll has been using breathing exercises to treat his anxiety. He’s also been “talking myself through” the illness in the hopes of getting better. Despite this, he is still eager to return home to Tennessee.
“Everybody wants to go home when they’re sick. That’s just in us,” he stated. “I just don’t feel good, so I just want to go home.”
Jelly Roll’s Louis Vuitton Controversy
Meanwhile, this comes weeks after Jelly Roll made headlines with an experience he had shopping in Sydney. There, the country music star claimed that he was treated him “like a criminal” by an employee at Louis Vuitton. Indeed, in a video that quickly went viral, Jelly Roll claimed that employees were looking at him like he was going to “rob” the store.
“Hey man, the Louis Vuitton in Sydney legitimately just treated us like we were (gonna) come in and rob that place,” Jelly Roll said in the clip.
“I have never been looked at more like a crim–, listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad, I was an actual criminal this bad,” he added.

Jelly Roll has long been open about his criminal history. He was only 16 years-old when he was charged as an adult with aggravated robbery and possession with intent to sell. Jelly Roll spent over a year behind bars and seven more years on probation after that. In the years since then, however, Jelly Roll has completely turned his life around.
This has clearly been a very difficult time for Jelly Roll. Please join us in saying a prayer for him!
