Conspiracies Abound After Jay Leno Falls 60 Feet Down A Hill - Suffers Serious Injuries

The former Tonight Show host Jay Leno, 74, sustained serious injuries to his face after falling 60 feet down a hill last weekend.

The injuries look quite gruesome!

Leno’s Major Fall

The injuries are so severe there was no way Leno was hiding it, so he came out with the story.

“I fell down. Boom, boom, boom,” Leno told reporters days later. I “rolled down the hill, hit my head on a rock, knocked me in the eye.”

The left side of Leno’s face was visibly bruised as he talked to the press. His left eye was also swollen shut, and he covered it with an eyepatch. On top of that, Leno broke his wrist in the fall, and he’s now wearing a cast over it.

Leno’s fall reportedly took place on Saturday night while he was staying at a Hampton Inn about 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Leno had a standup comedy performance scheduled for that day, and he decided to take a shortcut while walking to dinner at a local restaurant.

“To get to it (the restaurant), I didn’t have a car, so you had to walk about a mile and a half around,” Leno explained. “I said, ‘Well, the hill doesn’t look that steep. … Let me see if I can go down the hill.”

This turned out to be a big mistake.

“I broke my wrist,” Leno admitted. “Lost my nail on the finger, I’m all black and blue from 60 feet of hitting rocks.”

At 74, Leno is quite lucky to only have sustained flesh wounds.

Leno Bounces Back

Despite the seriousness of his fall, Leno still performed just three hours later. He only went to the hospital for his injuries after he’d returned to Los Angeles. Leno was then able to perform a standup comedy routine in Beverly Hills on Monday night.

“It’s not that big a deal,” he replied when asked if he’s in pain.

Conspiracy Theories Spread

Leno’s injuries have caused some wild conspiracy theories to go viral on social media among fans who don’t believe his fall story. The theories allege that Leno, who is worth an estimated $450 million, was the victim of loan sharks, the mafia, or someone he has “dirt on.”

“So Jay Leno got set on fire a few years ago, is staying at a Hampton Inn while being worth millions of dollars, with an eye patch, bruised up face, a broken wrist and a missing fingernail. And he wants us to believe he. . . Fell down a hill???” one fan questioned.

“I have never believed a conspiracy more than Jay Leno owing massive gambling debt,” another social media user commented. A third person stated, “Looks like he took a punch to the skull with that shiner. Shady…”

One conspiracy theorist claimed that there are “holes in this story” because Leno would have “abrasions” if he slid down a hill.

“He’s in gambling debt and the collector sent a message,” this person claimed. A different user begged Leno to “GO TO THE POLICE!”

Jay Leno had us on his show like four times and was always very kind. I don't believe he fell down a sixty foot hill behind a Hampton Inn, a couple years after a suspicious car fire.

Fans Defend Leno

Even so, one Leno fan spoke out to put these theories to rest.

“All of you speculating that Jay Leno took a beating from mob connected entities have no idea how ‘this thing’ works,” this fan argued. “They don’t give beatings to major celebrities over ‘gambling debts,’ especially those with 1,000 priceless classic cars in storage. But keep having fun with the injuries of a 74 year old man.”
