The country music star Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany sent a brutal message to Cracker Barrel this week amidst the restaurant chain’s logo change controversy.

Aldeans Call Out Cracker Barrel For Going Woke

Brittany, 37, took to Instagram on Monday morning to share a photo of herself and Jason, 48, eating breakfast together at a restaurant.

“Breakfast date this morning,” Brittany wrote in the caption. “We would be at @crackerbarrel but yall been actin a fool.”

The post immediately went viral, with fans being quick to agree with the Aldeans when it comes to Cracker Barrel.

“Love it!! We won’t be back either,” one social media user commented. Another added, “We will also be supporting our local business coffee shops instead.”

“No more @crackerbarrel for us either. Such a shame,” a third user wrote. “We will not be back- there are a lot of people here talking about that in Texas! Not going back!!!!”

This came after Cracker Barrel changed its beloved logo for the first time in 48 years. The original iconic logo showed a man wearing overalls leaning on the barrel. Indeed, the beloved figure was known as “Old Timer” or Uncle Herschel.

Cracker Barrel controversially ditched this logo in favor of a text-only “Cracker Barrel” sign. This enraged Cracker Barrel customers who accused the restaurant chain of going woke.

Cracker Barrel initially tried to defend the logo, telling Fox News that it’s “anchored in Cracker Barrel’s signature gold and brown tones.” The restaurant chain added that the new logo is “now rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all.”

A Cracker Barrel spokesperson later doubled down on this by claiming that the company’s values had not changed.

“Our values haven’t changed, and the heart and soul of Cracker Barrel haven’t changed,” the representative said. “And Uncle Herschel remains front and center in our restaurants and on our menu. He is the face of ‘The Herschel Way,’ the foundation of how our 70,000 plus employees provide the country hospitality for which we are known.”

“Cracker Barrel has been a destination for comfort and community for more than half a century, and this fifth evolution of the brand’s logo, which works across digital platforms as well as billboards and roadside signs, is a call-back to the original and rooted even more in the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all back in 1969,” the representative concluded.

Cracker Barrel Backs Down

This did nothing to stop the backlash, however. On Tuesday, one day after the Aldeans’ viral post, Cracker Barrel backed down and returned to their old logo in a desperate attempt to win back customers.

“We thank your guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel,” Cracker Barrel told Fox Business. “We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain. At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been – and always will be – about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family.”

“As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon,” the restaurant chain added.

This serves as yet another reminder that the mantra “go woke, go broke” is very real indeed. We applaud the Aldeans for taking a stand against Cracker Barrel over this nonsense. Here’s hoping that more brands think twice before going woke in the future!
