The legendary star will headline Armour of God IV: Ultimatum, with cameras set to roll in July on what producers are calling a historic moment for Central Asian filmmaking.

The new film, directed by Robert Kun and produced by Salem Entertainment, is eyeing a global release in the second quarter of 2027.

Chan will once again play his recurring adventurer character, the Asian Hawk, who is pulled back into danger when a worldwide chase erupts over an ancient artifact known as the Tumar. The relic carries a reward of more than $20 million, setting off a high‑stakes hunt that will unfold across Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

More Projects on the Horizon

The Alem Fund‑backed venture isn’t stopping there, with six more projects already in development.

Chan, 72, said in a statement obtained by Variety, “This is my first project with Kazakh partners, but it will not be the last. We will be announcing much more soon. I have never filmed there before, and it opens up many new visual and creative ideas that we will be able to bring to audiences.”

The Armour of God franchise began in 1986, followed by Armour of God II: Operation Condor in 1991 and Chinese Zodiac in 2012 — all starring Chan, with the first and third films also directed by him.

Producer Igor Tsay says bringing the fourth installment to Kazakhstan is a milestone for the region’s creative industry.

He said, “Having worked on productions around the world, I can say that this is an absolutely historic moment for Central Asian filmmaking — to host a legendary franchise starring Jackie Chan.”

“For us, it is both a great honor and a great responsibility.”

With a global fanbase and a decades‑long legacy, Armour of God IV: Ultimatum is shaping up to be one of Chan’s most ambitious late‑career projects – and a major spotlight for Kazakhstan on the international film stage.
