Last month, we reported that Prince Harry had met with his father King Charles. The pair enjoyed a “private tea” in London for around 55 minutes on Wednesday, September 10. This was the first time they had met in person in 19 months.

Now, insiders are claiming that Harry’s wife Meghan Markle has sent a brutal message to the royal family. Indeed, it seems that Meghan has no interest in a royal reconciliation.

Meghan Isn’t Interested In Royal Reconciliation

Insiders are claiming that in the wake of the King’s meeting with Harry, Buckingham Palace has drawn up proposals for a “formal understanding” that’s being described as a “prenup-style” arrangement of sorts for any future collaborations between the royals and the Sussexes. The proposals outline expectations for privacy, communications, and for how the couple interacts with the media, among other things.

“The King wants to establish a clear framework to prevent any future confusion,” a palace insider told Radar Online. “The priority is safeguarding the institution above all else, with personal feelings coming second. The goal is to put recent turmoil behind us and ensure the rules are unambiguous moving forward.”

While Harry is said to be “very open to negotiation,” Meghan, however, reportedly isn’t having any of it.

“Harry has indicated he wants to rebuild trust – he’s even proposed coordinating diaries to prevent overlapping engagements,” the insider claimed. “Meghan, however, holds a firmer stance. She feels a formal agreement isn’t necessary and that trust can’t be restored through documents alone.”

“From the palace’s viewpoint, Meghan’s position has made progress challenging,” the source continued. “She remains firm that she won’t participate in reconciliation talks unless their security and privacy concerns are completely resolved. This has caused some strain with Harry, who believes the opportunity to mend relations is limited.”

Meghan And Harry Betray Royals

Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, shocked the world when they stepped down as senior royals back in January of 2020. Months later, they sat down for an explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in which they repeatedly bashed the British royal family, shamelessly airing their dirty laundry.

“The wounds from those revelations are still raw,” a former palace advisor explained. “Each time private conversations became public, a bit more trust was lost. Within the palace, Meghan is still seen as the red line – the concern over further leaks or damaging portrayals remains significant.”

Meanwhile, while the King is eager to reconcile with Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton are currently far less willing to forgive and forget.

“William and Kate have maintained their distance,” the former palace advisor said. “They’ve stayed out of the recent discussions and prefer not to engage at this stage. The hurt runs deep – there are personal bridges that need to be rebuilt in private before anything can happen publicly.”

Will A Royal Reconciliation Happen?

In the end, it remains unclear at this time whether or not a royal reconciliation will actually come to fruition.

“At this stage, the idea of a contract remains only talk,” another royal insider concluded. “The palace is seeking clear boundaries, while the Sussexes are determined to preserve their independence. Neither side is moving, and Meghan’s reluctance to take part remains the key obstacle – until that shifts, nothing will change.”

It’s always nice to see families reconcile. After everything that Harry and Meghan have done, however, we can certainly understand why the royals would be reluctant to trust them again. Only time will tell how this all turns out for them!
