The 53-year-old actress is married to producer Brad Falchuk. She said during a chat on The Good Podcast that he has “such a sweet heart.”

She said, “I notice with my own husband — who is the best person ever in the world — he’s so progressive. Like, he has such a sweet heart and he wants to make sure everybody is looked after.”

As for her own political direction, Brad thinks she’s a “Republican,” to which she said she’s definitely not.

She added, “I’m pretty centrist… I don’t feel anything right now, to be totally honest with you. I feel I’m completely an Independent.”

“Binary” U.S.

Gwyneth was joined by defense company co-founder Trae Stephens. He added, “Without that sort of open, respectful dialogue, I’m not sure we can fix any of these problems that we’re seeing in the country.”

With Gwyneth responding, “I couldn’t agree with you more. And I think in this climate, you know, sometimes I’m like, ‘Can you just listen to this?’ It’s become so binary, I think.”

“And I am trying to, in my journey through being an American right now, trying to, I don’t know, I guess sort of weave together lots of different points of view, and also to get out of that place of, like, righteousness and anger and fear.”

Embracing Her Feminist Side

It’s not the first time Gwyneth has praised Brad for his beliefs. She previously credited him with helping her embrace her feminist side.

At The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Gala in Los Angeles last year, Gwyneth said, “Before I go, I just want to say a good thank you to my manager, my husband, Brad Falchuk, who is the most feminist man I know, the most loving, who lets me be with myself every day.”

Gwyneth and Brad married in 2018.

The Sliding Doors star was previously married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, the father of her two children, Apple and Moses, from 2003 to 2016.

She and Chris famously described their split as a “conscious uncoupling,” with the phrase quickly becoming world-famous.
