Over the past few weeks, rumors have been swirling that the country music star Blake Shelton and his singer wife Gwen Stefani are heading for divorce. Shelton and Stefani have each been trying to shut down these rumors by emphasizing that they are still very much in love.
In a new interview, an attempt was made to put these divorce rumors to rest once again when it was claimed that Stefani is hot for Shelton’s farm boy skills. As someone who was born and raised in Southern California, Stefani was “never around” anything like that when she was growing up.
When Shelton recently appeared on the “Michael Waddell Podcast,” host Michael Waddell recalled a time he spent with the couple on their ranch in Oklahoma. What went down there completely “blew [him] away.” It even had Waddell calling up his wife afterwards, saying, “I love Gwen.”
Stefani Gushes Over Shelton’s Farm Boy Skills
According to Waddell, Shelton, 49, and Stefani, 56, were preparing to plant flowers together in their yard. Shelton proceeded to excuse himself so that he could fire up his skid steer, which is a form of compact tractor.
Waddell immediately noticed that as Shelton got to work on that, Stefani was “watching [him] like [he was] Superman.”
“You walked away and Gwen just watched you,” Waddell recalled to Shelton. “And you went over there and cranked that tractor … and she’s just watching, and I said ‘Oh, Blake can run that skid steer.’ And Gwen’s like, ‘That’s a man.’”
“Dude, it blew me away,” the podcast host admitted. “I said, ‘Is that pretty cool, Gwen?’ And she said ‘I just didn’t know. I never was around that, and that is just so cool that Blake knows this stuff and can work on those tractors and work on our car.’”
Shelton, who said he’d never heard this story before, couldn’t help but to blush. Waddell concluded the story by explaining that this encounter made him finally understand their “opposites attract” dynamic.
Shelton Introduces Stefani To Oklahoma
During this same podcast interview, Shelton talked about how much he’s loved introducing Stefani to the joys of living in rural Oklahoma.
“One of the joys of my lifetime has been, I guess introducing is the word, but bringing Gwen here,” Shelton confessed. “And letting her experience something that’s just kind of untamed and beautiful. Just completely different than anything she’s experienced growing up in Southern California.”
Shelton went on to talk about how much Stefani has fallen in love with Oklahoma.
“She really has taken to it,” Shelton said of Stefani. “[Stefani] loves nature. I mean, when she’s here, she loves to just get out of the house and go on walks. She’ll just walk around. I got roads around the ranch and she loves to exercise and just be out in it.”
“So she just has really taken to the lifestyle of just having some freedom,” he concluded. “For the last 30 years of her life, she steps out of the house and there’s somebody…taking pictures of her. And here there is none of that and she really appreciates it.”
Shelton And Stefani’s Divorce Rumors
This will come as a relief to fans. Indeed, rumors have been swirling that Shelton and Stefani are heading for divorce after they were rarely seen together in public in 2025.
Earlier this month, a source close to the couple attempted to shoot these rumors down by saying that this was simply because Shelton and Stefani each have notoriously busy work schedules.
“There is no truth to the split rumors. They’ve just been juggling demanding schedules,” a source close to Stefani told People Magazine last week. “When they are together, it’s just so obvious how solid they are.”
“Sometimes they spend a lot of family time together and really treasure that, and then there are periods when the focus is more on work,” the insider continued. “They’re both at a place in their careers where they still genuinely enjoy what they do and they don’t want to give that up. Is it easy all the time? Of course not. They have a lot on their plates and a lot to balance, but that’s just how it is when you’re a family and both parents have careers.”
Shelton And Stefani Are Going ‘As Strong As Ever’
Another insider told US Weekly that Shelton and Stefani are “as strong as ever,” with their relationship being rooted in both family and faith.
“It’s rooted in the things that matter to them both. They are very devoted to each other,” this insider explained. “From the beginning of their relationship, they dealt with the obstacle of their careers taking them in different directions and having to spend time apart. But it’s a part of their lifestyle now. They make it work.”
While Shelton and Stefani need to travel a lot for work, they always reconnect in their “home base” of Oklahoma, according to this source.
“Then they spend quite a bit of time in California and then Las Vegas,” the insider stated. “Traveling back and forth is just part of the job at this point, and they’ve both been quite used to it for many years.”

Shelton and Stefani met back in 2015, when they were both coaches on The Voice. They went on to marry in 2021. Fans have always loved their dynamic, so it’s safe to say that they have millions rooting for their love.
