Whoopi Goldberg was hit with bad news this week when a plot to oust her from the ABC talk show The View was exposed.
Plot To Oust Goldberg From The View
Goldberg, 70, has been the moderator on The View since 2007. Over the past 19 years, she has used her platform on the show to bash Republicans, with her particular focus being on attacking Donald Trump. Unfortunately for Goldberg, this has now come back to bite her, as insiders are saying that there is now a “continued effort” from her political enemies to oust her from The View forever.
“Producers and the ladies believe all the negative talk of turmoil is coming from those in the Trump administration and other Republicans that don’t like the show or the ladies,” an ABC source told Daily Mail.
“Many believe that a continued effort is being made to put negative news out there to get a reaction and also for them to materialize it to become true,” the insider added.
Goldberg ‘Set To Be Pushed Out’ Of The View
Earlier this month, insiders claimed that Goldberg is soon “set to be pushed out” of The View.
Last month, the conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 48, returned to The View as a guest host. She was filling in for Griffin, who had been on maternity leave.
Hasselbeck was the token conservative on The View from 2003 until 2013, when she left to go to Fox News. During her time on the ABC talk show, she was known for her verbal battles with her liberal co-hosts, especially Goldberg.
One ABC insider claimed that Hasselbeck’s return to The View was carefully orchestrated by savvy producers. According to this source, the producers encouraged Hasselbeck to challenge Goldberg as much as possible in order to elevate the tension on the panel.
“Producers were telling Hasselbeck to push Goldberg and the [other panelist] ladies even harder,” the ABC insider told Radar Online. “They know what makes great television – and they wanted sparks. Conflict equals ratings.”
Other ABC staffers said that producers privately assured Goldberg that Hasselbeck’s time on The View would only be temporary. However, they may not have been being honest with her.
“Elisabeth’s return could be part of a longer play,” said one insider. “Some people think she’s being used to slowly nudge Whoopi toward the exit.”

Goldberg Desperate To Stay On The View
Despite this, the latest ABC source to speak out claims that Goldberg’s job is safe…for now.
“The ladies are all content with keeping their jobs,” the insider concluded. “And people behind the scenes are happy with how the show is going and having Whoopi at the helm.”
That will come as good news to Goldberg, as she has long claimed that she can’t financially “afford” to leave The View despite having an estimated net worth of $30-60 million.
“Who can afford to do that? If you don’t marry well, you’ve got to keep working,” she told Entertainment Tonight in September of last year. “I’ve got to keep paying those bills, baby.”
Goldberg made similar comments live on The View in 2024.
“I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me, too. I work for a living,” she said at the time. “If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, okay? So, I’m a working person, you know?”
It’s infuriating that Goldberg continues to have such a large platform to spew her nonsense to the world on a daily basis. While her job on The View may be safe for the moment, we can only hope that those trying to oust her from the ABC talk show end up being successful at some point in the future.
Good riddance to you, Whoopi Goldberg!
