The Hollywood star Matt LeBlanc reemerged for the first time in months at the end of last week. Commenters are saying the 57 year-old actor looks “unrecognizable” nearly one year after the sudden death of his former Friends co-star Matthew Perry.
LeBlanc Spotted For First Time In Months
LeBlanc was spotted in a rare public appearance on Friday. He was seen visiting a car showroom in Van Nuys, just outside of Los Angeles, California.
“Sporting a laid-back look in a black T-shirt and dark jeans, LeBlanc appeared almost unrecognizable from his heartthrob days as Joey Tribbiani on the beloved ’90s sitcom,” Daily Mail reported.
This was the first time that LeBlanc had been seen publicly since December of 2023. At the time, he was photographed just two months after Perry was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home on Saturday, October 28. It was later revealed that Perry had died of a fatal ketamine overdose at the age of 54.
LeBlanc Mourns Perry
LeBlanc spent years playing the best friend of Perry’s character Chandler Bing on the beloved sitcom Friends, which ran from 1994 until 2004. After Perry’s death, LeBlanc took to social media to pay tribute to him.
“Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye,” LeBlanc wrote on Instagram. “The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life.”
“It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend,” he continued. “I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never.”
LeBlanc concluded his post with a message of love.
“Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free,” he stated. “Much love….And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”

Friends Cast Speaks Out
LeBlanc and Perry previously starred on Friends alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer. After Perry’s death, the entire cast came together to release a joint statement paying tribute to him.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew,” they said at the time. “We were more than just cast mates…we are a family.” There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”
“In time we will say more, as and when we are able,” the stars continued. “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
Five People Arrested
Last month, five people were arrested in connection to Perry’s death. These five people included his two doctors, Perry’s longtime live-in assistant, and Jasveen Sangha, a drug dealer who is known as the “Ketamine Queen.”
Sangha’s trial date has been set for March 4, 2025. In a legal filing obtained by Variety, U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada wrote that Sangha “took advantage of Mr. Perry’s addiction issues to enrich” herself.
