Last week, we reported that Christina Sandera, the longtime partner of Clint Eastwood, had died at the age of 61. Now, we’ve decided to learn a little bit more about Sandera in the wake of this tragedy.
Sandera Passes Away
Eastwood, 94, paid tribute to Sandera after her death with a brief but heartbreaking statement.
“Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much,” he said.
A spokesperson for the Hollywood movie studio Warner Bros. revealed that Eastwood himself will not be commenting further on her death.
It has since been revealed that Sandera died of a heart attack.

Sandera And Eastwood’s History
Eastwood and Sandera met back in 2014, when she was working as a hostess at his Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Northern California. Eastwood bought the property back in 1986, and he proceeded to pay millions to renovate it. Though he’s said to frequent Mission Ranch, he reportedly keeps to himself while there.
“I’m not the jolly host type,” he told Architectural Digest back in 2016.
Sandera moved in with Eastwood soon after they started dating, and they lived together in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Sandera never worked in the entertainment industry and kept her life private despite dating one of the most legendary stars in Hollywood.
That being said, Sandera frequently accompanied Eastwood on the red carpet. She first walked the red carpet with him at the Oscars back in 2015. That night, his hit movie American Sniper was up for six awards.
Sandera would go on to join Eastwood on the red carpet for his movies Sully in 2016, The Mule, in 2018, The 15:17 to Paris in 2018 and Richard Jewell in 2019.
Eastwood is the father of eight children by six different women. Soon after he started dating Sandera, a source spoke out to say that all of the kids were fans of her.
“Clint’s kids have all met Christina and like [her],” the insider told US Weekly. The “kids all say she is ‘normal.’”
As for Eastwood, the source added that he was “with Christina and happy.”
Sandera’s Controversial History
Unfortunately for Sandera, she soon learned the downside of being in the public eye when the tabloids were able to drudge up her criminal history. She was previously married to Paul Wainscoat for just 11 months back in 2003. This marriage culminated in Sandera being arrested for domestic battery.
In 2015, Wainscoat reemerged to claim to The National Enquirer that Sandera flew into a rage when he refused to move in with her. He alleged that she “grabbed onto his shirt and scratched his neck to prevent him” from leaving.
“It was hell…I wish Clint all the luck in the world with that woman,” he said at the time.
Wainscoat later called police to say that he was “being battered by his wife.” Sandera denied being an alcoholic, but eventually revealed in court papers that she had quit drinking and attended both Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and “15 anger management classes.”
Eastwood’s Relationship History
This does not seem to have deterred Eastwood from dating Sandera, as he remained with her for many years after the news came out. He knows a thing or two about relationship drama, as he has been married twice.
Eastwood was first married to the model Maggie Johnson from 1953 to 1964, although they did not finalize their divorce until 1984. He then married the television news anchor Dina Ruiz in 1996 and remained with her until they divorced in 2014. His relationship with Sandera began months later.
Eastwood has also had longterm relationships with the late Oscar-nominated actress Sondra Locke (they were domestic partners for 14 years and made four movies together) and the Titanic actress Frances Fisher (they were together for five years and did four films together, too). In addition, Eastwood had longterm relationships with the late stuntwoman Roxanne Tunis and the flight attendant Jacelyn Reeves.
