Last week, we reported that the legendary former Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson had passed away at the age of 79 following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Now, a sad update has come in about Phil’s beloved wife Miss Kay. He was married to her for nearly 60 years prior to his death.
Phil and Kay’s son Willie is speaking out this week to reveal that his mother’s health is rapidly declining.
Kay’s Health Decline
“Kay is not in the best of health,” Willie, 53, told USA Network. “We’re trying to help her out as much as we can.”
Willie went on to say that Kay, 77, has been left devastated by Phil’s death. Indeed, the couple had been married since 1966, and they were utterly devoted to one another.
“Some of it is she is just depressed,” Willie explained of Kay’s health. “She lost her partner of 60 years.”
Kay was noticeably absent from the premiere party for Duck Dynasty: The Revival on June 1. While she appeared in the premiere episode briefly, her health eventually prevented her from appearing in subsequent episodes of her family’s new reality show reboot.
“Mom was on the show at the beginning so we have some sweet moments with her,” Willie said.
Phil ‘Was Unable To Film’ Duck Dynasty: The Revival
As for Phil, he was only featured in Duck Dynasty: The Revival in flashbacks. By the time they began filming, his Alzheimer’s had progressed to the point where he could no longer actively take part in the show.
Just two days before Phil died, Willie confirmed that his father would not be appearing on Duck Dynasty: The Revival.
“He was unable to film,” Willie told Christian Post. “He’s not great. Alzheimer’s is kind of a cruel situation to go through. But there are glimpses we have, some good times and some moments with him, but it certainly has progressed. “
“We feel good about the life he’s lived, and he certainly does as well, and just the impact,” he continued. “Such a powerful voice. He did everything I think God wanted him to do on this Earth and he’ll be ready to move on, for sure.”
Kay’s ‘Health Issues’
That same week, Korie made the sad announcement that Kay was only able to appear in a few episodes of Duck Dynasty: The Revival before her health declined.
“She’s actually in quite a few of the early episodes of this season,” Korie told The New York Post of Kay.
“As the season went on, she had some health issues, too. And she’s not been able to be on anymore,” Korie continued. ‘So we’re just thankful that Kay got to be on some of the earlier episodes, and we’re going to really cherish those.”
After Phil’s death, another update about Kay came in. Jay Stone is married to Anna, the daughter of Phil and Kay’s son Alan. While appearing on The Duck Call Room for a memorial episode for Phil, Jay revealed that Kay has been staying with him and his wife. From how he spoke about it, this sounds like a permanent situation.
“She’s doing good,” Jay said of Kay. “She’s surrounded by her family. There’s people in and out constantly. So she’s doing well and she’s eating well.”

Phil’s Death
Phil passed away on May 25, 2025. Hours later, his death was announced by his daughter-in-law Korie, who is married to Willie.
“We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” Korie, 51, wrote on Instagram. “He reminded us often of the words of Paul, ‘you do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.'”
“Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus,” she continued. “We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.”
This has clearly been an extremely difficult time for Miss Kay and the entire Robertson family. Please join us in saying a prayer for them!
