Dave Bautista is currently one of the biggest action movie stars in Hollywood. Despite this, he’s still maintained the down-to-earth attitude that has endeared him to millions of fans going back to his days as a professional wrestler.
In a new interview, Bautista showed that his success in movies hasn’t gone to his head at all when he revealed why he refuses to work with complainers on Hollywood film sets.
Bautista Sounds Off
“I’m just at the age and at the point of my life where life’s just too short,” Bautista, 56, told Collider. “I want to work with people I just love and respect, because I love this business. I love filmmaking, and if people don’t want to be there, I don’t want to be there with them. You know?”
“I’m happy to be there,” he continued. “It’s a love thing for me, and I’m passionate about it. I want to be there, and I want to make the most of it, so I don’t want to hear people complaining, moaning, and groaning about doing something that we’re all fortunate enough to be doing and making.”
In a world where most Hollywood stars appear to be more full of themselves than ever, Bautista’s attitude could not be more refreshing!
Bautista’s Career Change
Bautista spent years being one of the top professional wrestlers in the world. In a 2024 interview, he opened up about why he decided to change careers fifteen years ago.
“I would still be involved with WWE, I hope. Because I really loved it. It wasn’t that I ever wanted to not be a part of that universe because I love the WWE Universe,” Bautista told BuzzFeed. “It was just that I became so passionate about acting, and I’m still pursuing it with everything I have, but I still love that world.”
“I have a good relationship with the company,” he added. “I hope that they would always leave the door open for me because I just love professional wrestling.”
Bautista certainly made the right call about changing careers. Indeed, since making the switch to Hollywood, Bautista has starred in some of the biggest hit movies in recent memory. His most successful films include Guardians of the Galaxy, Blade Runner 2049, Riddick, and his new movie Afterburn, among others.

Chris Pratt Weighs In On Complainers
Bautista also isn’t the only A-list actor who has had enough of working with people who have bad attitudes on film sets. His Guardians of the Galaxy co-star Chris Pratt recently made similar comments.
“Look, these guys can attest to this, because they’re the same way, like, there’s no room for [expletive] attitudes there,” Pratt, 46, said last year. “You can’t have a bad attitude in moviemaking. It ruins everything for everyone, and then you don’t last long.”
“It sucks when people have a [expletive] attitude,” he concluded. “So when you show up on set, there’s no reason why you should… Like, ‘Oh, are you having a hard time living your dream? Is that tough for you today?’ Like, come on and pull your head out.”
It’s no wonder that Bautista and Pratt are so beloved by their fans. If only we had more Hollywood stars out there like Dave Bautista and Chris Pratt!
