Daniel Stern, who is best known for playing Marv in the classic 1990 movie Home Alone, was charged with one misdemeanor count of soliciting prostitution in California. The charge came in on Monday, January 12.

Stern Charged In California

Stern, 68, was reportedly cited at a motel in Camarillo on December 10.

“From what I understand, he was cited at the location and released,” Ventura County District Attorney spokesperson Joey Buttitta told People Magazine.

Buttita went on to tell Fox News that Stern’s arraignment was initially scheduled for January 13. However, it has since been pushed back to February 6.

“The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office submitted their ticket or citation to us and it is being reviewed by our prosecutors,” Buttitta previously stated.

Stern Leaves Hollywood – Moves To Farm

Stern left Hollywood behind years ago to live a quieter life with his wife Laure Mattos. The couple has been married for 45 years. They share three children together.

These days, Stern is a sculptor and farmer who lives on a ranch with his family in Ventura, California. There, Stern and his wife enjoy tending to cattle and citrus trees and grow produce.

Stern has previously revealed that his Hollywood successes in the 1980s and 1990s made him “enough money that I didn’t have to work.” It also instilled “an obligation to take advantage of my good fortune.”

Stern recently took to TikTok to give fans a glimpse of his new life on his farm.

“Hello, as you will come to discover, I live on a farm, and we grow tangerines here,” Stern said in the video.

“I juice them up and then freeze them and give them away to my friends,” he added as he showed off his work station.

Stern’s Home Alone Sculpting Project

Last month, Stern told People that the family that owns the iconic Chicago house that is featured in Home Alone has commissioned him to make a replica of himself and the spider. This is a reference to the legendary tarantula scene that Stern’s character Marv has in the Christmas classic.

“I got a call from the people who own the Home Alone house,” Stern said. “And I’m a sculptor [and] they asked if if I would do a sculpture for the house. So I’m creating a sculpture of me and the spider.”

“Which is gonna be kind of crazy. So it’ll be at the Home Alone house so that spider whatever his name was — ‘Charlie’ — is being immortalized in bronze,” he continued.

This was set to be the first self-portrait that Stern has created.

“I’ve been looking at myself in my studio and I’ve made myself a lot handsomer than I actually am in real life — just why not?” he joked.

“It’s been fun though,” Stern confessed. “It’s been really fun and you know it was so sweet to think of it. I mean it’ll be done in a couple of months. But it’s so sweet to think of it in that house — these folks love that house so much and love the movie so much.”

Stern concluded by saying that he is hoping to be able to see the display in person.

“I’m going to ship it but they might have like an unveiling or something. It would be crazy to be in [the house.],” Stern stated. “That house is like a tourist attraction.”

At the time of this writing, Stern has yet to break his silence about his soliciting prostitution charge. Only time will tell how this all turns out for him.
