Last week, we reported that the 94 year-old Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood had found love again less than three months after the sudden death of his longtime girlfriend Christina Sandera, 61. Sandera tragically died of a heart attack back in July.
Despite reports of Clint already finding a new girlfriend, a source close to him is saying that he’s still “struggling” to come to terms with Christina’s death.
‘Clint Is Having A Hard Time’
We admit, we were a little surprised to hear he was back in the saddle so soon after the loss of Christina. But grief is hard, and people deal with it in very different ways.
“Clint is having a hard time dealing with all the recent lows in his life,” the source told Daily Mail. The insider added that Clint is “pretty sad about losing his girlfriend three months ago. To say he is feeling down is a gross understatement.”
Clint and Christina were together for ten years before her death. Given their 33 year age difference, Clint was likely never expecting to outlive her!
“He was really in love with her and they got along well,” the source continued. “He would tell his pals that he wished he had met her much sooner like when he was in his 30s. He wanted more time with her.”
“He loved Christina because there was no drama with her, she was so easy to be with,” the insider explained. “She didn’t want to become a reality TV star and she was not an actress. There was no agenda at all and he appreciated that. A lot of women Clint has been with wanted something from him, but Christina didn’t.”
Clint Addresses Christina’s Death
Clint has only addressed Christina’s death publicly in a brief statement after she died.
“Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much,” he said at the time.
Clint’s 27 year-old daughter Morgan, who is the youngest of his eight children, also spoke out to pay tribute to Christina.
“A devastating loss for our whole family,” she said. “Thank you Christina for being a good partner to my Dad, you will be greatly missed.”
Clint and Christina met back in 2014 when she was working as a restaurant hostess at his hotel, the Mission Ranch, in Carmel, California. She moved into his home in Carmel-by-the-Sea City months later, and they had been together ever since.
They kept much of their relationship private over the years, though Christina frequently appeared on the red carpet with him at his movie premieres. She first walked the red carpet with him at the Oscars back in 2015. That night, his hit movie American Sniper was up for six awards.
Clint Finds Love Again
Last week, another insider close to Clint spoke out to claim that the Hollywood icon has found love again. In fact, Clint has reportedly already taken his new girlfriend to his hotel, where he met Christina.
“To most normal people, dating again after such a loss would be a surprise,” the insider said. “But Clint is 94 and knows he has to enjoy life to the full.”
“He wants to have a partner and has already introduced his new love to his inner circle,” the source added.
Can anyone really disagree?
Grief is a difficult thing that comes in waves, so it’s no wonder that Clint is still struggling with Christina’s death, regardless of his current relationship status. Please join us in saying a prayer for Clint as he continues his grieving process.
