Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman was arrested on Friday on multiple criminal charges, including assault. He was taken into custody after acting belligerently at a New Hampshire private high school.

Allman Arrested

Allman, 49, was arrested and charged with four misdemeanors. Indeed, he was hit with two counts of simple assault, criminal trespass and criminal threatening.

On top of that, Allman was charged with violation of disorderly conduct. However, this is not considered a crime in the state despite being illegal.

Concord police officers responded to a call at the elite St. Paul’s School at around 7pm on Friday. They were told that Allman was causing a disturbance in the school’s dining hall. Officials have since said that Allman has no connection to the school, so it is unknown why he was there.

Allman was processed at the Merrimack County Jail. He was later released on personal recognizance bail, which is an agreement in which he doesn’t have to pay any bail and promises to appear at future court dates.

Cher, 79, declined to comment when contacted about Allman’s arrest by People Magazine.

Allman’s History

This isn’t the first time that Allman has found himself in trouble with the law. In June of last year, he was taken to a hospital in San Bernardino County for demonstrating erratic behavior after authorities received a disturbance call.

“Deputies from our Morongo Basin Station responded to a residence in Landers for a male subject acting erratically,” officials with the Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “When deputies arrived, Elijah Allman, 48, was being evaluated by emergency medical personnel. Deputies located drugs inside the home, and Allman was transported to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.”

In December of 2023, Cher was appointed as the temporary conservator of Allman. At the time, court documents claimed that Allman was “substantially unable to manage his financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”

As she pushed to get the conservatorship, Cher claimed that though he is entitled to the money provided to him in the trust set up by his father, the late singer Gregg Allman, due to “his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues,” any money he gets “will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”

In January of 2024, Allman fired back by claiming that he wasn’t comfortable with his mother handling his finances.

“I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time,” he said at the time.

Allman went on to allege that he had since refrained from the use of illicit substances that “have historically caused the incidents that have given rise to my mother’s concern.”

That same month, Cher lost her temporary conservatorship of Allman.

Cher And Gregg Allman

Cher and Gregg Allman were married from 1975 until they divorced in 1979. Their split was reportedly due to Gregg’s substance abuse issues. Gregg died in 2017 at the age of 69 after a battle with liver cancer.

Cher, who will be turning 80 in May, is currently dating the 39 year-old music executive Alexander “AE” Edwards. Allman is one of her two children, as she is also mother to Chaz Bono, 56.

There are clearly some very complicated family dynamics at play here. We can only hope that Allman is somehow able to turn his life around.
