The country music star Carrie Underwood lives far away from the spotlight on a farm in Franklin, Tennessee. She lives there with her former NHL star husband Mike Fisher and their two young sons Isaiah and Jacob.

Sadly, insiders are now speaking out to claim that life on Underwood’s farm has become a major struggle for her. Indeed, sources are alleging that farm life has become “too much for” Underwood as she deals with “never-ending repairs” while also caring for dozens of animals.

Underwood Struggles With Farm Life

Underwood, 40, once called her garden her “happy place.” Last year, she even built a greenhouse so that she could grow more fruits and vegetables.

Since then, however, it seems that things have drastically gone downhill. Insiders close to Underwood are now claiming that the former American Idol winner has become overwhelmed by life on her farm.

“It’s become too much for her to maintain, and she’s getting no sleep because she’s up at the crack of dawn taking care of all these animals,” one insider told Radar Online.

“She’s shoveling hay, weeding, fertilizing, harvesting, and then there are the repairs that never end,” the source continued. “It doesn’t help that she’s had a hard time finding and keeping hired hands.”

Underwood frequently shares photos of her farm with her 13.2 million followers on Instagram. In reality, however, her farm life isn’t nearly as picturesque as it looks online.

“It’s picturesque on social media,” the source said. “Behind the scenes, it’s far from idyllic.”

Underwood’s Bee Invasion

Last month, Underwood took to her Instagram Story to post a video in which she revealed that thousands of bees had invaded the orchard on her farm.

“Had to get out of the orchard when the bees started swarming…” Underwood wrote alongside the video.

Underwood later posted another image that showed a swarm of bees on their enormous nest in one of the food bushes.

“They landed on a blueberry bush,” she wrote. “Maybe we can catch them tomorrow if they’re still there…”

Underwood’s Emotional American Idol Journey

This also comes after Underwood broke down in tears remembering her time on American Idol. She won season four of the iconic singing competition back in 2005. This year, Underwood’s life came full circle when she served as a judge on the 23rd season of American Idol, replacing her fellow singer Katy Perry.

“I think my journey on American Idol all the time, because it’s so grand, it’s so unbelievable,” Underwood said in a video as she choked back tears. “To go from somebody who was going to school, trying to figure out what she wanted to do with the rest of her life.”

Underwood went on to say that she only auditioned for American Idol on a “whim.” She added that her incredible run on the show was “insane.”

“If I hadn’t made that one decision in my life, my life would be completely different,” she concluded. “So it’s just a blessed journey I’ve been on.”

Anyone who has ever lived on a farm knows just how difficult that life really is. Please join us in saying a prayer for Underwood as she continues to navigate her farm life!
