The former Full House star Candace Cameron Bure is speaking out to reveal what “weirds” her out about sex.
Cameron Bure Sounds Off On Sex
“A visual of God watching me having sex weirds me out,” Cameron Bure, 49, told Bachelor Nation’s Madi Prewett, 29, during the latest episode of her eponymous podcast. “It totally just depends on your upbringing and what your past experiences have been or the things that you were taught as a kid. I’m almost 50 and some of those adolescent thoughts never quite leave your mind or those high school teenage thoughts never quite leave your mind.”
Prewitt was quick to agree, saying in response that the feeling was “so real.”
“I think what I felt, I’m like, ‘Lord, help me to invite you into this and not feel like this is a weird or shameful thing for you because you created it,'” Prewitt stated. “You created it to feel good, you know, you put the nerve endings where they are, the feelings where [they are] like, you, you did that. And so I’m just going to invite you into this and pray that you bless it. Pray that it honors you, pray that it serves and respects my husband. It’s an interesting thing.”
Cameron Bure Doubles Down
Earlier in this podcast, Cameron Bure confessed to feeling “very kind of weird, confused feelings” about sex after she married former hockey player Valeri Bure back in 1996. She explained that “purity culture” expected her to be a virgin until she was married, “then it’s like, ‘Okay, now you’re married, go for it.'”
“And it was a little… I don’t want to quite use the word shameful, but there were parts of it that felt shameful because I went from not being a sexual person to [people] saying, like, now you can do whatever you want,” the former Fuller House star recalled. “And so it felt weird. There wasn’t a good bridge there.”
Cameron Bure and her husband are parents to three children: Natasha, 27, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 24. She went on to say that as a mother, she’s become more comfortable with talking about sex.
“I have three kids that are in their 20s,” Cameron Bure said. “So I’ve done a lot of parenting and had a lot of conversations in this area over the years.”
Cameron Bure’s Previous Comments
In July of 2025, Cameron Bure admitted that she and Bure went trough a “really rough season in our marriage” in 2020. Indeed, it was their oldest son who gave them the boost that they needed to turn things around.
“It was going south quickly, and we were like, ‘I don’t know, don’t think…we’re gonna make it through,'” Cameron Bure said at the time. “But at one point, [our son] Lev preached, like, a 45-minute sermon on marriage to us. Just had his Bible open on the couch and just talked about it.”
“And I’ll never forget, because he said, ‘You know, I know I haven’t been married. and I’m just a young kid. And so it’s probably hard to take marriage advice from someone this young who never experienced it before. But I don’t need to be married to know what the word of God says,'” she added.
Cameron Bure gushed that her son “was such a calm voice that had so much wisdom behind it” that she and Valeri “walked away” from the experience saying, “We raised some pretty good kids.”
“It was so in our face, but that was like the pivotal moment — it really changed for us after that talk. There was a lot more to it, but it’s a whole different scenario when your kids sit you down to have a talk and go, ‘Are you being as mature as you can be?’ I’m so grateful to Lev and Maks and Natasha,” she concluded. “They were so supportive of everything.”
Cameron Bure has long been known as one of the only openly conservative Christian stars in Hollywood. We applaud her for continuing to be an inspiration to millions of women who have her same devout beliefs.
God bless you, Candace Cameron Bure!
