The former Full House star Candace Cameron Bure, who has long been known as one of the only openly devout Christians in Hollywood, is speaking out this week to offer her thoughts on modern dating culture.
Cameron Bure Sounds Off On Dating
Cameron Bure, who has been married to her former professional hockey player Valeri Bure for nearly thirty years, is taking issue with how dependent young people are on dating apps these days.
“What I believe is lost today is human connection,” Cameron Bure, 49, lamented in a clip from The Candace Cameron Bure podcast that was shared with Us Weekly on Monday. “Because of our phones, because of social media, because of dating apps.”
“I’m not saying that those aren’t good tools,” she continued. “I know lots of people who have met on dating apps, or you on a dating show.”
This was a reference to Cameron Bure’s season 13 podcast cohost Madi Prewett Trout. She appeared on The Bachelor in 2020. Trout went on to meet her husband Grant Troutt in 2021.
“But it’s really, like you said, a person’s not going to drop on your front door like an Amazon package,” Cameron Bure added. “So you do have to put yourself out there and not hide behind your phone or the screen. Or be afraid to have a real conversation with someone to talk to them on the phone and not just text them.”
Cameron Bure’s Advice To Find A ‘Godly Man’
Cameron Bure went on to say that women looking for a significant other should “be in the places to find the type of people that you want to date.” This means that someone “looking for a Godly man” might not be able to find him at a bar.
“You might find him there,” Cameron Bure joked. “But [it] might not be the best place.”
Cameron Bure married her husband in June of 1996. They were introduced to one another by Cameron Bure’s former Full House co-star Dave Coulier.
“We went on a date the very next day. And in less than a year we were engaged,” Cameron Bure previously recalled.
Cameron Bure and Bure are parents to three children: Natasha, 27, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23. Last month, Cameron Bure opened up about how “wonderful” her marriage is.
“I love my husband so much. We are enjoying each other so incredibly much,” she gushed at the time. “Because anyone knows that when you’ve had kids and you go through that walk or that journey together, which can be great. But then it’s basically the two of you again, once your kids are all adults.”
“It’s like we started dating again, and it’s been so beautiful,” Cameron Bure stated. “And I’m just in such a happy, happy place, as is Val, and I’m just looking forward to the next 30 years, and hopefully more than that.”
Cameron Bure Is In A ‘Happy Place’
Cameron Bure then revealed the biggest change in her marriage, now that she and her husband are empty nesters.
“We’re going to the movies a lot more. Val actually surprised me and we flew to Las Vegas for the day to see The Wizard of Oz — my all-time favorite movie — at The Sphere,” she concluded. “I literally cried because I was so overwhelmed and grateful. I’m in such a happy, happy place.”
In the crazy world of Hollywood, it’s rare to find a marriage that is actually able to stand the test of time. That’s what makes the strong decades-long marriage Cameron Bure has with Bure so special. We’d like to wish them both a very happy 30th wedding anniversary, and many more to come.
God bless you, Candace Cameron Bure!
