Back in July, we reported that the former Full House and Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure, who has long been known as one of the only openly devout Christians in Hollywood, had admitted that she and her husband of 29 years nearly divorced a few years ago.

Now, Cameron Bure is doubling down on this by opening up about “times of deep brokenness” in her marriage.

‘Times Of Deep Brokenness…’

Cameron Bure, 49, has been married to the former professional hockey star Valeri Bure, 51, since 1996. They are the parents of three adult children: Natasha, 27, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23.

While it has long seemed like Cameron Bure and Bure have always had the perfect marriage, she wants the world to know that this is not the case at all. In a new interview, Cameron Bure is discussing the “seasons” of her life, some of which have tested her union with Bure.

“There are days I wrestle with brokenness. I have experienced that, I mean, we all do,” Cameron Bure told Us Weekly. “I don’t know that it’s [something] I feel daily, but there have been seasons of that in my life.”

Cameron Bure says that she and her husband have am “incredible, wonderful” relationship. However, after nearly 30 years together, there have also been valleys of real struggle.” This has left Cameron Bure and Bure having to build their marriage “back up.”

“There were times of deep brokenness that I felt. But God is in the restoration business,” Cameron Bure explained. “[God] loves to restore and make all things new, and he certainly has.”

Cameron Bure’s Son Saves Her Marriage

This comes months after Cameron Bure surprised her fans by revealing how her son Lev saved her marriage. He reportedly did this as she and her husband went through a “rough season” that nearly led them to divorce.

“I’ll never forget, ‘cause [Lev] said, ‘You know, I know I haven’t been married. I’m just a young kid. And so it’s probably hard to take marriage advice from someone this young [who] never experienced it before. But I don’t need to be married to know what the word of God says,’” Cameron Bure recalled.

In her latest interview, Cameron Bure confirmed that her “vow and commitment” to Bure “was always there even though we got to a breaking point.” After they both acknowledged that they each “don’t actually want” to be in a bad place as a couple, they were able to fix their marital issues.

Cameron Bure And Bure Bounce Back

Thankfully, these days, Cameron Bure and her husband are doing better than ever.

“I’m more in love with my husband today than when we met. He is truly my best friend,” she gushed. “We’re in a different season of life because our kids are grown. We have two that are married, and you have to find your relationship again when the kids get older. And so we’re in this great season of life.”

Cameron Bure opens up further about this in her new book Rise and Renew: A 30-Day Devotional to Heal a Hurting Heart, Overcome Emotional Pain, and Grow in Your Faith – Interactive Devotions with Bible … and Creative Exercises (One Step Closer). It hits stores on Tuesday, November 11. If you love Cameron Bure as much as we do, be sure to check it out.
