It’s been two years since the family of the former Die Hard star Bruce Willis, 69, announced to the world that he is battling frontotemporal dementia. Now, his 30 year-old daughter Tallulah is speaking out to update fans on how he is doing.

Bruce’s Dementia Update

“It’s the same, which in this situation is a good thing,” she told E! News about her father’s condition. “Our visits have so much love and I feel that. That overarches anything for me is being able to have that connection.”

“I know he knows how much I love him. I know how much he loves me, I know how much he loves all of us,” she continued. “It’s a hard thing for anyone going through this. But it has really created an opportunity for more love for my family.”

Tallulah went on to open up about how her family is coping with Bruce’s “painful” dementia battle. In part, they’re looking for the silver lining – how can they help others dealing with the same issue?

“We are in a very unique position where we have this platform,” she added. “All of us do… all of us in our own ways, have a voice… and I think it’s been ingrained… I know for me, especially, ‘how can we use something that’s painful or challenging or a struggle and create awareness about it.’”

Tallulah Visits Bruce Often

Tallulah further opened up about her father’s dementia battle in an interview with People Magazine. She stated that she goes to visit him as much as her schedule allows.

“I’ll go visit my dad and spend some time with him,” she said. She added that when she’s sees Bruce, it’s important “to go into it open to what the visit is, and knowing that before I go in, I’m solid. I’m okay. I’ve done what I need to do to make sure that I can just be present.”

Bruce’s Family And Diagnosis

Tallulah is the youngest of the three daughters that Bruce share’s with his ex-wife Demi Moore. Their older two daughters are named Rumer and Scout. Bruce and Demi were married from 1988 until they divorced in 2000, but they remain close friends to this day.

Bruce has been married to Emma Heming Willis since 2009. They are parents to two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn.

The world was devastated when Bruce’s family announced his dementia diagnosis.

“Bruce always believed in using his voice in the world to help others, and to raise awareness about important issues both publicly and privately,” they said in a statement.

“We know in our hearts that – if he could today – he would want to respond by bringing global attention and a connectedness with those who are also dealing with this debilitating disease and how it impacts so many individuals and their families,” they added.

This is clearly a very difficult time for Bruce and his entire family. Please join us in saying a prayer for them!
