It’s long been known that there’s no love lost between Meghan Markle and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton. Now, a former friend of Meghan’s is speaking out to claim that the “bitter” former Suits star is “fuming” over how beloved Kate is with the public.
Meghan’s Former Friend Sounds Off
Earlier this week, we reported that season two of Meghan’s lifestyle series With Love, Meghan had premiered on Netflix. Unfortunately for her, however, the series has been savaged by critics. Much to Meghan’s humiliation, one critic even described it as being ‘a series in search of a meaning, fronted by a woman in need of some cash.”
Meghan herself has claimed that With Love, Meghan is “all about friendship.” That’s why her former friend Lizzie Cundy, a British model-turned-television and radio presenter, is speaking out to urge Meghan to make some major changes in her life if she wants to win back the public.
“It doesn’t matter how many pots of jam she makes, she has to stop pretending. She’s not Martha Stewart,” Cundy, 57, told Daily Mail.
Meghan’s Alleged Jealousy Of Kate
Cundy went on to recall that when she first met Meghan, 44, she found the American actress to be “really fun, really sweet.” According to Cundy, Meghan asked her if she knew “any famous guys.” Meghan then allegedly explained that she was single and “really loved” English men.
All these years later, Cundy is urging Meghan to “be who she is.” However, she feels that Meghan won’t be able to relax enough to do this thanks to comparisons between herself and Kate.
“She’s fuming how the public love Kate,” Cundy explained. “She needs to stop being bitter, stop being angry and stop being ‘poor me.'”
Cundy concluded by saying that Meghan should “take a leaf out of Kate’s book.”
Unfortunately for Cundy, Meghan ditched her as soon as she began dating Prince Harry. Meghan went on to make her dream of landing a “famous” English guy come true when she married Harry in 2018.
Royal Expert Weighs In
Insiders have said for years that it didn’t take long for Meghan to take issue with Kate, who is married to Harry’s older brother Prince William. Last year, royal expert Ingrid Stewart told The Telegraph that Meghan “must have been incredibly envious and then jealous of Kate Middleton.”
“Maybe Harry was a little in love with Kate,” Stewart speculated. “No, no, no – I don’t mean physically but mentally. Remember when it was just the three of them?”
“He always longed for a sister, he told Diana that,” she continued. “Psychologically I think he just adored her and he was always there, at Kensington Palace, in their fridge, you know, ‘What’s for supper?'”
According to Stewart, Meghan was also jealous of Kate’s living arrangements.
“I heard Meghan actually thought she was going to be a princess and live in Windsor Castle,” Stewart alleged. “Instead, there’s William and Kate with this beautiful house, while they are stuck in Nottingham Cottage which Harry used to call ‘my hovel.'”
Kate’s Popularity
Then there’s the fact that the latest polls show that Kate is far more popular than Meghan is. The public loves Kate, seeing her as the epitome of class and grace. In contrast, many have been turned off by Meghan’s constant bashing of the royal family.
Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals in 2020. They then moved across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised.
Since they’ve been estranged from the royals since then, it’s likely been years since Meghan and Kate spoke. In the end, it seems unlikely that they’ll be making amends with one another anytime soon!
