Barbra Streisand has marked 28 years of marriage to James Brolin with a message celebrating their long‑standing relationship.
Wedding Anniversary
The Oscar‑winning actress and singer, 84, shared a photograph of the couple on Instagram alongside a note reflecting on their time together.
Streisand wrote, “Honey… 30 years together and 28 years married!? Where has the time gone? Happy Anniversary.”
The post drew responses from friends, including actress Rita Wilson, who attended the couple’s 1998 wedding. Wilson commented, “Time has flown.”
Songwriter Linda Thompson added, “Where has the time gone indeed! I remember when you first started dating… Happy anniversary to a beautiful enduring love!”
Fell in Love Immediately
Brolin has previously said he fell in love immediately after meeting Streisand. The pair began dating in 1996, and Brolin told People last year that he was struck by her honesty and directness. He recalled agreeing to a date after being encouraged by friends, despite initially hesitating.
He said, “We’re on our way and halfway there, we both picked up the phone to cancel and something told us, ‘No. Let’s just do it.’”
Brolin said Streisand’s straightforward nature made a strong impression. He remembered her reaction to his newly cut hair, saying she approached him and asked, “Who f****** up your hair?”
He added, “Well, that’s when I fell in love. I thought, ‘This girl tells the truth right from the beginning. I’m crazy about her.’ And then we’ve really been pretty much together ever since then.”
Trust & Independence
The Westworld actor said their relationship works because of trust and independence.
He said, “She never asked me anything. I just feel this incredible loyalty, because of it, and so that it brings you together.”
The 85-year-old star added that he admires Streisand’s decision‑making, “People argue with her about her choices and then in the end, when given enough time, they find out she was right in the first sentence.”
