Ariel Winter is opening up about a major life change – and it involves a very familiar face from her Modern Family days.

The actress has revealed that she’s now sharing a home with former co‑star Nolan Gould, who played her on‑screen little brother Luke Dunphy for 11 seasons on the hit ABC sitcom.

Winter, 28, told People that the pair became roommates after her August 2025 split from actor Luke Benward, with whom she previously lived in Nashville alongside their four rescue dogs. Since the breakup, she’s been dividing her time between Tennessee and Los Angeles – and that’s where Gould comes in.

She explained, “It’s funny because I spend more time out here now and I rent a house with Nolan.”

Modern Family Reboot?

“People ask me about a Modern Family reboot, but Nolan and I are real roommates now. So it’s like we’re having our own little Modern Family reboot, but it’s just the two of us living together. I see him every day.”

While fans have been clamoring for a revival of the Emmy‑winning series, Winter says the closest thing to a reboot might be happening in their living room – and she thinks people would watch it.

She said, “I’m not gonna lie, when we sit there at night and we watch Temptation Island together, it’s pretty hilarious.”

“We’ve thought about it. We’re just like, ‘People would find this really funny.’”

Winter and Gould as Roommates

Winter and Gould have remained close since Modern Family wrapped in 2020, but this new chapter has taken their friendship into sitcom‑worthy territory.

From late‑night reality TV marathons to navigating adulthood side by side, the duo has unintentionally created the kind of odd‑couple dynamic that made their fictional family so beloved.

And while a full‑scale reboot may still be a distant dream, Winter’s comments make one thing clear: the Dunphy siblings are still very much in each other’s lives – just without the cameras rolling.

For now, fans will have to settle for the off‑screen version of the reunion.
