Taylor Swift is rich.

We know this isn’t news to anyone. But how rich, exactly?

She’s so rich that she just joined the list of the world’s few billionaires.

Brand New New Billionaire

According to Forbes, if you were wondering, there are 2,781 billionaires in the world in 2024.

Now Tay-Tay’s one too.

BBC reports, “Singer-songwriter Swift entered the rich list after achieving megastar status. She stole the show at this year’s Grammy Awards, becoming the first performer to win the prize for album of the year four times.”

“Her album 1989 (Taylor’s Version) was also the best-selling vinyl LP of last year,” BBC noted. “Swift’s success is not just confined to the world of music. Her mere presence at American football games to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce has been credited with raising NFL viewing figures.”

Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chief’s tight end and Super Bowl Travis Kelce was on full display during the 2024 NFL season, leading to record high ratings that many attribute to her presence.

Swift was barely a focus, but she occasionally was, and that was enough to bring in a whole new audience who might not have been watching professional football otherwise.

Billionaire Club Of Musicians

BBC added, “Geographically, the US still has more billionaires than any other country, with a record 813 on the list. China remains second, followed by India. In the UK, hedge fund manager Michael Platt is the richest person, followed by part-owner of Manchester United Sir Jim Ratcliffe and inventor Sir James Dyson.”

It’s not surprising that the U.S. would have the most billionaires. It’s also not surprising that the “Shake it Off” and “Bad Blood” singer is one of them.

Among musicians, Swift is the sixth to make the billionaire list, behind Jay-Z, Rihanna Paul McCartney, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and the late great Jimmy Buffett.

Breaking Down The Billionaire Club

Of these billionaires, Jay-Z is the wealthiest, with a net worth of $2.5 billion after winning 24 Grammy Awards and holding the record for the most solo number one albums (14) on the Billboard Hot 200. He actually became the first musician to become a billionaire back in 2019.

Second to him is Rihanna, who has a net worth of $1.4 billion after winning nine Grammy Awards, and 13 American Music Awards. She’s sold 250 million copies of her songs all over the world, and more than 10 million albums in the United States.

The third wealthiest billionaire is McCartney, who is worth $1.2 billion after rising to fame with The Beatles in the 1960s. He’s won 18 Grammy Awards, and is still doing concerts at 81 despite his immense wealth.

That group of billionaires is certainly musically eclectic. Beyonce, Bono and Madonna are also part of this conversation, but none of those three have reached the billion dollar mark.

Swift has won many accolades throughout her career, including twelve Grammy Awards, 29 Billboard Music Awards, and 40 American Music Awards. She’s also the only female artist to have gathered 100 million Spotify monthly listeners, according to the Guinness World Records website.

Whether you’re a Swiftie or not, don’t expect Taylor Swift’s popularity – or bank account – to taper off anytime in the near future.
