Kate Middleton shocked the world last month when she revealed in a video announcement to the world that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was privately undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” treatments. Now, it’s shockingly been revealed that Kate was forced to make this video after her diagnosis was leaked and was about to be made public by the press.

Kate Forced To Reveal Cancer Battle

A well-placed source told Daily Mail that Kate’s video had nothing to do with potential speculation as to why she would not be joining her family at church on Easter Sunday. Instead, she was left with no choice but to make the video after Kensington Palace was contacted about her diagnosis for comment, meaning that she had to get ahead of the story.

It is still not clear at this time if the leak came from The London Clinic, where Kate had undergone abdominal surgery that led to her cancer being discovered, or from somewhere else.

“Whatever the reason, the universal acclaim heaped on Kate confirmed it was the right decision,” The Mail reported.

Kate Drops Cancer Bomb

After weeks of speculation over her health and safety, Kate, 42, dropped a bomb when she revealed that she’s been battling cancer in a video shared to social media on March 22.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful,” she said in the video. “However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she continued, referring to her husband and three children, later adding, “As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.”

King Charles, who has also been battling cancer since February, is reportedly “proud” of his “beloved” daughter-in-law for the “courage” that she showed in revealing her diagnosis. He has reportedly been in close contact with Kate as the two of them undergo their respective cancer treatments.

Kate Leans On Her Children For Support

A family friend told People Magazine that Kate and her husband Prince William’s three children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, are helping her to get through her cancer battle.

“You take heart from the extraordinary resilience of children,” the friend said, adding that Kate and William’s children’s “buoy them with smiles back.”

“Having fun together when they can is very important,” the insider continued. “The children are at the center of their world.”

Even when left with no choice but to reveal her cancer diagnosis to the world, Kate was still thinking about her children. Her video was released the day that her children went on Easter break, and they are not due back in the classroom until the end of April. This means that the family will have time to come to terms with her diagnosis together at home, away from the spotlight.

“We now understand the logic of the timing — waiting for the children to break up from school. And she struck a pitch-perfect note,” said royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith.

This has clearly been a very difficult time for Kate and for her entire family. Please pray for them as she continues her cancer battle.
