He captioned the video by writing, “You need to hear this story,” along with the hashtags “#cowboy #country #western #yellowstone #yellowstonetv.”

“You know, my social media people tell me that you like me face-to-face, but you know what, I can’t say face-to-face what I want,” Smith began. “I just got kicked off a plane, and … where the hell am I at – Houston, Texas – because I told them I didn’t feel comfortable sitting next to somebody with a mask on.”

“Ya, I’ve been drinking. I’ve been sitting in an airport for three hours,” Smith continued. “Ya I’m drinking. I ain’t drunk, but they throw me off the plane because I’m drunk, because you people won’t stand up and tell everybody what bulls–t this is.”

“I just told them I didn’t feel comfortable about sitting next to somebody that had to wear a mask, and I’m off the plane,” he concluded.

Smith did not elaborate on what airline he was flying, and his rep declined to comment when contacted by reporters.

Smith’s Anti-Vax History

Fox News reported that Smith made headlines back in 2022 when he was forced to miss the Screen Actor’s Guild awards due to organizers enforcing strict protocols requiring all attendees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Simply being vaccinated was not enough, as attendees not only had to have gotten the booster shot, but also provide a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the show, during which they had to additionally wear a mask for its entirety.

Smith, who was nominated with the rest of the “Yellowstone” cast for Best Ensemble, however, was not having any of it.

“I want to apologize to y’all for not being at the Screen Actors Guild Awards,” Smith said in an Instagram video that has since been deleted. “I mean no offense to anyone. I’m not vaccinated, and it’s a requirement to be vaccinated.”

“I will not get vaccinated,” he added. “I haven’t been vaccinated since I was a little kid. I don’t vaccinate my dogs, I don’t vaccinate my horses. I’ve never had a flu shot. Never will. I believe they compromise your immunities. It’s just my beliefs. I just don’t believe in that stuff. Whatever.”

Smith’s ‘Yellowstone’ Character

US Weekly reported that Smith “Yellowstone” character Lloyd Pierce, who is the oldest ranch hand on the Dutton ranch, was initially a recurring role for the hit show’s first two seasons before he was promoted to the main cast in season 3.

“You can’t teach that, toughness,” the character of Pierce once said. “You’re either born a willow, or your born an oak. That is all there is to it.”
