A reality television star who is also a conjoined twin quietly married an Army veteran three years ago.

Abby Hensel Gets Married

Daily Mail reported that public records show that Abby Hensel, now 34, married Josh Bowling, 33, in Minnesota back in 2021. During the wedding, the twins wore a sleeveless wedding dress with lace trim detailing while the groom wore a grey suit.

Abby and her sister Brittany are one of only a few sets of dicephalus twins in history to survive infancy, and they rose to fame a decade ago on their eponymous TLC television show, which chronicled their life events like graduating high school and looking for jobs.

Abby and Brittany share one body and, from the waist down, all their organs, including the intestine, bladder and reproductive organ. They are one of only two sets of twins in the world with this condition, with the other being brothers Ayşe and Sema Tanrıkulu, who were born in Turkey in 2000.

Abby and Brittany each have control over one side of their body, with the former controlling the right side and the latter controlling the left.

“When it comes to decisions, there are compromises we have to make,” Abby previously said. “We take turns. We want to work it so each of us is happy and we find a happy medium.”

“We usually bargain with each other, like ‘if you do this, I’ll give you that,'” Brittany added.

Abby And Brittany Want To Have Children

When the girls were teenagers, their mother said in a documentary that they hoped to have children one day.

“That is probably something that could work because those organs do work for them,” she said.

Brittany was quick to agree, saying, “yeah, we’re going to be moms.”

“The whole world doesn’t need to know who we are seeing, what we are doing and when we are going to do it. But believe me, we are totally different people,” she later added.

“Yeah, we are going to be moms one day, but we don’t want to talk about how it’s going to work yet,” Abby stated in agreement.

“People have been curious about us since we were born, for obvious reasons,” they said in the first episode of their reality show. “But our parents never let us use that as an excuse. We were raised to believe we could do anything we wanted to do.”

Abby And Brittany’s Lives Today

Josh is known to be a father of one and a nurse who works with hospice patients. His facebook page shows him with the twins and his daughter from a previous relationship enjoying activities like hiking, having ice cream, and dressing up for Halloween.

Abby and Brittany were raised Christian by their parents, and they work as fifth grade math teachers at an elementary school in their hometown of New Brighton, Minnesota after they obtained two teaching licenses.

“Obviously, right away, we understand that we are going to get one salary because we’re doing the job of one person,” Abby previously said.

“One can be teaching and one can be monitoring and answering questions,” added Brittany. “So in that sense we can do more than one person.”

Being a conjoined twin can’t be easy, but Abby and Brittany seem to be making the most of it. It will certainly be interesting to see if they end up welcoming children in the years to come!
