Tragedy can come when we least expect it.

A mere two days ago, this heart wrenching GoFundMe was posted in which a family lost their son in a tornado:

Our dear colleague Kyle Burnham and his family faced the unimaginable. A destructive tornado tore through Clarksville, TN, leaving a trail of destruction and heartache. the Burnhams lost not only their home and belongings but also tragically lost their beloved son, Arlan.

The road to recovery will be long and arduous, both emotionally and financially. The Burnham family is now faced with the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. As they navigate through the grief of losing a cherished family member, they also must contend with the daunting challenge of reconstructing their home and replacing the essentials that were lost in the tornado.

This GoFundMe campaign has been established to provide a ray of hope amidst the darkness that surrounds the Burnhams. Your contributions will go directly towards assisting with funeral expenses for Arlan, as well as aiding in the process of rebuilding their home and replacing essential belongings.

No donation is too small, as every bit will make a significant impact on helping this grieving family pick up the pieces and move forward.

The GoFundMe’s goal was $5000.

As of this writing, it is inching closer toward $200,000.

Wife and mother Katherine Burnham expressed her gratitude on Facebook:

I have tried to call as many of you personally as possible but I just can’t keep retelling this.

Yesterday our home was in the direct path of a tornado. My beautiful baby boy, Arlan, did not make it out of the house. Ella was taken to the hospital but was released with superficial injuries. Archer was with his mom. Our home is gone.

Kyle and I are not okay. We don’t know how to navigate through this. We have no idea what is next. Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love and adore my kids, all kids really. I can not put into words how absolutely devastated I am.

We have an entire army of people helping us. To all of you who have shown up to dig through the rubble to help find and save things like a drawing Arlan made in kindergarten…. you have no idea how absolutely grateful I am.

Everyone keeps calling and asking how they can help… I don’t have an answer. I want 1 thing that I will never get back. Outside of that, I don’t know… Wyatt Johnson has organized a gofundme, our neighbors, friends and WJ Family are doing everything from laundry to feeding us. Help in whatever way you’d like. Be here for us, my daughter and youngest son. Be with us to honor my son when that day comes.

“I love you all,” she finished.
