The former boss was back in Boston, and we’ve got reaction to Vince McMahon being backstage again. Plus, one RAW spot was reportedly nixed because of a unique reason.

Reaction To Vince McMahon Backstage

In a bit of a surprise, the former boss of WWE was in Boston for the show on Monday, and we’ve got reaction to Vince McMahon being backstage for RAW.

Once word was out Monday afternoon that Vince McMahon was backstage at RAW, fans on social media did what fans on social media tend to do.

Overreact, if you were wondering.

There had already been a buzz in recent weeks that Vince McMahon was back and running creative.

McMahon being backstage in Boston surely will just fuel things, but Fightful has given us reaction to Vince being there…and it might surprise you.

Per the report, folks online were more worked up about it than anyone backstage was.

Many are said to have figured it was just a matter of time before Vince was coming around again, for starters.

Others believed that, while his presence was a surprise and not really announced, Vince McMahon was primarily there because of John Cena’s return.

Of note, some commented that Vince looked different, sporting dyed hair and a mustache. One remark said it was a more shocking look for him than when he got his head shaved.

While Vince McMahon was backstage and sat at the Gorilla position all night, he did not offer any of his formerly typical input.

There are some that still speculate that McMahon was doing more than it seemed, but we shall see.

One closing comment from a talent backstage? It will be quite telling whether McMahon is in the back for Friday’s SmackDown.

If he is, those Vince-is-back rumors will hit a whole new level. However, if he is not, it supports his “back to see Cena” narrative.

Stay tuned…

RAW Spot Nixed

In other news, according to Fightful again, at least one RAW spot this week was nixed.

As for why it was nixed? Well, once you hear about the spot, you will likely understand.

Per the report, leading up to the show there was an expectation of a segment where one Superstar would throw a cup of water onto someone else.

After what transpired Sunday for AEW and MJF, you can likely understand why this was nixed.

As the report goes, there were some backstage who thought the angle was a shot at what had happened, but that apparently is not the case.

It was noted that the water spot had been planned and discussed ahead of Sunday. Once the controversy involving MJF and the fan unfolded, the spot on RAW was ultimately nixed.

Without more information about the plans, even if MJF had not doused the child, the segment might have hit the cutting room floor before air.

To me, it doesn’t exactly sound like it would be great for a WrestleMania hype show.

It would not shock me if that initially planned water spot involved Asuka, Carmella and Chelsea Green. If that was indeed the segment, going with the mist was a much better option.

Regardless, once the AEW drama happened, it was surely on thin ice, and ultimately did not make it to RAW.
