Things got weird on “The View” yet again on Thursday morning when Joy Behar admitted to enlisting the ABC talk show’s research team to “look into” an ex of hers, only to find out that “he was dead.”

Behar’s Shocking Admission

Decider reported that this admission came during a segment about a woman who wrote into the Washington Post advice column asking if she should be “creeped out by how much her ex is interested in keeping tabs on her.”

“When they get out they usually don’t look back for me,” co-host Sara Haines said, with co-host Sunny Hostin admitting, “I get dumped. I’m the one that gets dumped.”

Hostin proceeded to tell a pitiful story about one ex of hers who she called out by name, saying that he broke up with her on New Year’s Eve because he “wanted to start to the New Year off right without” her. Ouch!

That’s when Behar, 80, made her confession about what she had “The View’s” research team do to one of her ex-boyfriends.

“I got the research department to look into somebody that I dated. We have the access here because I don’t know how to do it myself,” she said. “And I tried to contact him but he was dead.”

“Why did you want to contact him?” Hostin asked, to which Behar replied, “Because I wanted to see where he was at.”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin had a confession of her own, admitting that she “Zillow stalked” an ex to see how much money he spent on a home that he bought in her area.

“There is a certain fascination with what your life could’ve been,” she said. “And I’m definitely guilty of this and it’s so gratifying. Like, I did choose the right man.”

Behar’s Romantic History

Behar has been married to her husband Steve Janowitz since 2011, but she dated him for 29 years before that. She was previously married to the late Joseph Behar, who was the father of her only child, from 1965 until they divorced in 1981.

“I waited until all the parents were dead,” Behar once said of why she waited so long to marry Janowitz, according to Closer Weekly.

“So I have no in-laws at all. He has none and I have none,” she added. “‘Cause marriage is mostly about in-laws, I find. They always want you to visit them and come for lasagna.”

Behar Has ‘No Plans’ To Retire

Behar was one of the original hosts of “The View” when it premiered back in 1997, and though she was fired in 2013, she was brought back two years later and has remained on the show ever since. She celebrated her 80th birthday in October of last year, but despite this, she has “no plans” to retire.

“I just signed a contract so I’ll be here for a while,” Behar told People Magazine around the time of her birthday. “I have no plans to retire.”

“It’s really, you know, something that is an important show in many ways,” she went on to say of the ABC talk show. “Sometimes I don’t believe that, as I’ve been here since the beginning, but we’re the most-watched show in daytime. Most-watched! I’m happy to be a part of it. So no, I’m not going anywhere. I’m having a good time.”

We can only imagine who the ex was that Behar had her show’s research team stalk, but we can honestly say that he dodged a bullet in not ending up with her. Lucky for him, he passed away before he ever had to deal with having a conversation with Behar again, because that might just be a fate worse than death!
