AEW Teases All Women Show, Rebel Pulled From TV

A recent trademark by AEW teases an all women show to help balance the oversized roster. Also, Rebel has been pulled from TV.

AEW Teases All Women Show

AEW has a loaded roster and that is no secret. As a result, many of their wrestlers do appear regularly on TV.

Still, they try to feature a ton of talent across several shows. They have Dark, Dynamite and Rampage.

And, later this month, All Access will begin airing. We already know Adam Cole will return to action on the show, after missing months due to concussions.

In the build towards the Revolution pay per view, Tony Khan spoke about the card. Since the main event will be a 60 Minute Iron Man Match, they had to move the ladder match to Dynamite.

As for the future, Khan is open to a program that only features their female talent. AEW recently trademarked ‘All Elite Women,’ leading to speculation about another show being added.

“I would love to have that show be a show that gets picked up,” said Kahn. “It is an idea I had for a show and something I would love to do.”

“All Elite Women, and that’s why I filed the trademark. I think it’s a good idea.”

“We have a great women’s roster and I would love to utilize them as much as possible. Anytime we can develop more programming to feature our roster, it’s something that is a great opportunity for the company and the wrestlers.”

AEW has two female titleholders in Women’s World Champion, Jamie Hayter, and TNT Champion, Jade Cargill.

Hayter is booked for a match, but not Cargill. Considering Cargill has never lost in two years, it seems like a huge miss by AEW.

Speaking of AEW’s women’s division, a regular name has seemingly been dropped from TV. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted how Rebel is “no longer being used.”

They continued how the decision was made to remove Rebel because of Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter turning babyface. Basically, AEW did not see Rebel fitting into the new direction.

Baker and Hayter turned babyface when Saraya and Toni Storm went heel. AEW seems to be teasing an angle of former WWE superstars opposite AEW wrestlers.

The storyline will continue at Revolution. Hayter defends her title against Saraya and Ruby Soho in a triple threat.

Rebel was paired with Baker and the two quickly became top heels. Often, Rebel was there to help Baker secure a victory.

Over the course of time, fans really got behind Rebel. She never reached the same level of success as Baker, but was still regularly featured on TV.

Fans never saw Baker and Rebel feud, which is something that was slightly teased. Perhaps, that moment does happen as the angle gets deeper.
