It’s time for a big SmackDown in a Nutshell, as Elimination Chamber looms large.
Looms large as in, the Elimination Chamber itself hangs over the ring tonight.
SmackDown is hitting us from Montreal, with the Bell Center hosting tonight’s show as well as Saturday’s Elimination Chamber.
It’s primarily about the final hype, of course, but not entirely.
We do get Madcap Moss challenging GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship, for one.
Fans can expect a final promo from Sami Zayn, and who knows what fallout might be coming from last week’s cliffhanger between Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman.
Remember, when Heyman told the brothers to watch this week from home?
Yep, the drama continues!
And just like that, it is time for…
Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out!
I will take GUNTHER and Madcap.
If I had one knock on it at all, it would be that it was short.
That being said, for what we got, it was exceptionally good.
Liv Morgan and Asuka. It wasn’t actually a bad match.
It lands here because it was a train wreck to get all the women in Elimination Chamber on TV.
You can’t wrestle
Holy sh!@
Sami
You deserve it
No shock here, but Montreal’s favorite son, Sami Zayn, got the biggest reaction.
How sweet is it to have that reaction, with his old music back, and the sing-along?
I loved it, I can only imagine how awesome it was to be there live.
Only thing missing is perhaps a shave and a haircut…
But that segment was great. Except I have a feeling, since he got the adulation uninterrupted, that it is a stone cold lock he’s losing tomorrow.
No spot. Just…that main event segment was so awesome.
Hit Row. They were basically fed to Bray and Uncle Howdy.
Serious question-I know some fans were super happy to see the trio back, even if they missed Swerve (the best of the group before).
With that said…are they not the worst of the Triple H return signings? Not sure if there is a plan or direction there.
Nothing tonight.
Plain and simple, Bray Wyatt wants the winner of Lesnar/Lashley.
That’s one way to go set up a likely WrestleMania match.
This didn’t look good…
Ariel Helwani was on SmackDown tonight. He’s kind of a big deal in wrestling.
That wasn’t the LOL.
This, however, was.
Also…Tony Khan watches SmackDown…
If anyone was doubting Wyatt being a top face, tonight certainly worked to erase doubt.
Hit Row came out, sans entrance, and cut a rap getting them a ton of heat (Bret screwed Bret…in Montreal…will do that).
Early on we saw the brief static flash we’ve grown used to with Wyatt’s happenings.
Then Flop Dolla talked about anyone in the back…we went to black…lights up and we had Uncle Howdy and Bray clearing the trash.
This one is sneaky, but could be so, so good. Here’s the lucha talent that Rey can pass the torch to, in my humble opinion.
Sami Zayn…what a redemption arc.
As far as a go home show goes, this one was all over in mostly a good way.
Heck, it wasn’t even a go-home…because they are already there.
Most of it was good. Some of it (like Kross and Rey) was setting up next Friday.
Other bits (like the women’s Elimination Chamber participants brawling) was just chaos.
All in all, a lot to like, and an ending to love.
