We previously reported that Priscilla Presley is contesting the will of her late daughter Lisa Marie Presley, who died suddenly of a heart attack last month at the age of 54. Sources are now saying that Priscilla and her granddaughter Riley Keough are no longer on speaking terms.

Priscilla And Riley No Longer Speaking

“It has been a very tense and heartbreaking few weeks for both Riley and Priscilla,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “Riley has been mourning the loss of her mother and is heartbroken to have to deal with a trust dispute with a family member. Priscilla is adamant that she has a valid case and that she will prevail in court. Riley and Priscilla aren’t communicating at this time, but have been in communication through lawyers.”

The insider went on to say that “they are both gearing up for court, Riley would prefer to settle this dispute privately.”

“She is heartbroken that this has turned into a public matter and knows her mother would never want this,” the source continued. “Riley is very stressed at the moment and has been trying to keep a positive attitude and outlook ahead of her new series coming out. Her daughter and husband have been keeping her in good spirits.”

The source is referring to Riley’s upcoming miniseries “Daisy Jones & The Six,” which is premiering on Amazon Prime next month. Riley is a 33 year-old Hollywood star who has been nominated for a Golden Globe in the past.

The source concluded by saying that Priscilla believes that she “is right in her heart,” when it comes to Lisa Marie’s trust.

“She is convinced that old documents had been forged,” the source said.

Priscilla Contests Will

Priscilla, 77, began contesting the will after it was revealed that Riley and Lisa Marie’s son Benjamin, who committed suicide in July of 2020, were named co-trustees of Lisa Marie’s trust in 2016. Priscilla is contesting “the authenticity and validity” of Riley’s appointment, alleging that “there are many issues surrounding” it.

“I loved Elvis very much as he loved me. Lisa is a result of our love,” Priscilla said earlier this month. “For anyone to think anything differently would be a travesty of the family legacy and would be disrespectful of what Elvis left behind in his life.”

“There is an individual that bought their way into the family enterprise that is trying to speak on behalf of our family. This person is not a representative of Elvis or our family,” she continued. “Please allow us the time we need to work together and sort this out. Please ignore ‘the noise.’ As I have always been there for Elvis’ legacy, our family and the fans, I will continue to forge a pathway forward with respect, honesty, dignity, integrity and love.”

Priscilla has yet to reveal the person that she’s referring to in this statement.

Lisa Marie’s Friend Speaks Out

Those close to Lisa Marie, however, have said that she would want her will to stay the way that it is.

“Lisa lived her life authentically,” a friend told People Magazine. “She wouldn’t remain quiet when she was being taken advantage of. At the end of the day, these are her wishes, and there’s no question as to what her wishes were. No one’s going to be able to reinvent the last seven or eight years and say no, no, no.”

“No one can argue that Riley being the trustee is going to not be to the benefit of the twins,” this friend continued.

This friend was referring to Lisa Marie’s 14 year-old twin daughters Finley and Harper Lockwood.

It’s always sad to see families fall apart, particularly over money. We can only hope that this situation is able to be resolved in a way that Priscilla and Riley can have some kind of relationship in the future.
