The ABC talk show “The View” went off the rails once again on Thursday morning when Joy Behar embarked on a rant about watching “Law & Order” and even getting “stoned.”

‘The View’ Derails

During a strange segment about a new invention that Decider described as a “human muzzle,” Behar derailed the show with some stories about times when she’s heard strange noises in her home.

“My grandson was living in my house and he was across the hall and he would come in and [say], ‘Nana, would you turn it down please?’ Because every few minutes he’d head ‘bum-BUM,’ cause I was watching ‘Law & Order.’ Bum-BUM, bum-BUM!,” recalled Behar, 80.

Not stopping there, Behar proceeded to recount a story that occurred when she was “stoned.”

“How about the time I took that CBD gummy and I was watching my play and reading and I said, why are they so loud? They’re so awful,” Behar said. “My friend Suzy said, are you stoned or something? I was.”

“Joy is a believer in the CBD gummies,” co-host Sara Haines said, with Behar adding in agreement, “I love the CBD gummies.”

Whoopi Goldberg Chimes In

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who is something of a connoisseur when it comes to anything related to marijuana, was not having any of it.

“I don’t even want to tell you about CBD. There’s nothing in CBD,” she said, with Behar asking, “Well then why was everything so loud?”

“Because you were annoyed,” Goldberg said bluntly as Behar tried to protest.

“Are you sure it wasn’t a THC gummy?” asked co-host Sunny Hostin, resulting in Goldberg shutting her down by saying, “No, it’s not a THC gummy.”

“It doesn’t work if it doesn’t have a pinch of THC,” Goldberg explained.

“I didn’t want to say it, that I had THC,” Behar fired back as she pointed to the audience, but Goldberg replied, “They figured you were high!”

Behar Has ‘No Plans’ To Retire

It seems like “The View” has been going off the rails more than ever lately, and much of this can typically be blamed on Behar and her increasingly ridiculous rants. Though she celebrated her 80th birthday in October of last year, Behar has defiantly said that she has “no plans” to retire.

“I just signed a contract so I’ll be here for a while,” Behar told People Magazine around the time of her birthday. “I have no plans to retire.”

“It’s really, you know, something that is an important show in many ways,” she went on to say of the ABC talk show. “Sometimes I don’t believe that, as I’ve been here since the beginning, but we’re the most-watched show in daytime. Most-watched! I’m happy to be a part of it. So no, I’m not going anywhere. I’m having a good time.”

Behar was one of the original hosts of “The View” when it premiered back in 1997, and though she was inexplicably fired in 2013, she was brought back two years later and has remained on the show ever since. While she often makes headlines for “The View,” she typically does so for all the wrong reasons, so it remains to be seen how long ABC will decide it’s worth keeping Behar around.
