It’s time for another RAW in a Nutshell, and to get here the roster has come from Riyadh to Wilkes-Barre, with love.
OK, maybe not love, but probably jet lag.
That seems more likely, to be honest.
Now that Crown Jewel is in the rear view…and what a show it was…all eyes turn to Survivor Series.
Which, truly means…War Games.
Not going to lie, I’ve loved the War Games match in NXT. I am very intrigued to see what Triple H can do with the match on the main roster.
Beyond that, it should be an interesting show. The Superstars will no doubt be a little tired, but happy to be back in the United States.
Of course, going from Riyadh to Wilkes-Barre is a bit of a step down. No offense to the Scranton area, I love my home state, that included.
And heck, that whole area, and nearby Allentown? That’s hugely important to the Bloodline.
We know we will see The Miz and Johnny Gargano, which is heating up. What else can we expect this week?
It’s time to find out…
Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out!
Once it was revealed Bobby Lashley was answering the open challenge, I figured this would be Lashley versus Seth.
Except, Lashley just destroyed Rollins and left.
Then Theory came in, cashed in, and thanks to…Lashley…lost.
If not that, give me Gargano and Miz.
For me, this one felt like Otis and Elias.
Like, we all wanted Elias back…but now that he’s back…something isn’t clicking.
I know he has gotten over in the past, but barring something helping a face push…I am seeing a guitar smashing heel turn coming.
Fans complained on Twitter about the crowd, but we got some chants. They were eating up Rollins, especially leading to the main event.
Mia Yim with a nice return?
Gargano and Miz for their pretty nice match?
Honestly, I am strongly leaning toward…Seth Rollins.
He took a beating, he got cashed in on…and he’s still our United States Champion.
Rollins through the table goes boom…
Or…this, which I missed at first glance.
Dana Brooke perhaps?
Or poor Ali, who got beat up backstage while attempting to accept Seth’s second attempt at an open challenge.
Well…Austin Theory will be very upset at his failed cash in…
But, if you inherited that storyline, and didn’t love it…having Theory cash in, in front of a quieter crowd, on the US Champ?
Ouch.
We knew she was a free agent, and certainly had a fan in the right spot in WWE.
But with her husband working in AEW…most suspected she’d head there too.
They were wrong.
Mia Yim is BACK in WWE, and she has aligned herself with The O.C.
Meaning…there’s their answer for Rhea. Not a bad choice at all.
And…while we know Bray Wyatt is back, and we know Uncle Howdy is here…the teasing continues.
On top of that, we ended the night with a cash-in. No, Roman Reigns was not here…Theory cashed in…and LOST…to Seth Rollins.
And I couldn’t help but feel like we are starting to see hints of a face turn for Seth?
They showed a replay of Jake Paul’s punches from Crown Jewel.
Those were the worst punches shown on RAW.
But to be fair, there were some whiffs in the Gargano-Miz match.
Miz denied Johnny’s whistle-blowing accusations from last week.
This week, he got “exposed” via a hidden camera.
Yes, I know it’s all scripted and whatnot. But it was still funny.
Well, before getting a beating, Bianca challenged Damage Control to War Games.
Fans love the idea, and are having fun with the five for each.
Also, we’ve heard some rumblings from all over about reviving the Hurt Business.
Lashley snapped at Lesnar at Crown Jewel…and now on RAW, both of his running mates?
Back on television. Losing, but back.
Also back? Dana Brooke and the 24/7 Championship.
Though, by the end of that match…Nikki Cross was holding the gold.
The area might have links to top Superstars, but at times the crowd seemed dead.
Riyadh it was not…
Don’t take my word for it…go look on social media, fans were comparing the Wilkes-Barre crowd to Thunderdome.
Maybe it was the area…maybe it was a whole hangover type vibe, but it seemed to be a bad vibe for whatever reason.
Didn’t see that cash in coming, did we?
I had suspected Theory would be a busted cash-in, and I was right.
Worth asking, what this does for his stock long term. Meaning, he was the youngest winner…should never have been in the match…and had a failed cash in for a “lesser” title.
Now, that could elevate the US title more, because hey, there was a cash in on it. But could it also mean Theory is taking a few steps back?
Loved seeing Mia Yim come back. Finally going to get a real chance on the main roster.
War Games women’s match is setting up. Team Damage Control needs one more (Tegan Nox, anyone?), and Bianca needs a pair.
Survivor Series…Boston…could it finally be?
And just like that, we’ve seen the briefcase cashed in on the United States Championship, and a failure at that.
Certainly one way to get from Riyadh to Wilkes-Barre…
Big return for Mia Yim. Knew The Club were going to get a female…never even considered her.
I am curious to see where the men’s War Games match will go, but I suspect that gets started on Friday.
