With Triple H calling the shots, CM Punk could make a WWE return. Also, an AEW wrestler who has been there since day one is injured.

CM Punk Could Make WWE Return

When CM Punk joined AEW, many were happy to see him return. A year later, and fans have started to turn on Punk.

It all involves what took place at All Out. Punk won the AEW World Championship and it should been great night for everyone.

Instead, Punk instantly cut a shoot promo during the post-show media scrum. He buried Colt Cabana, “Hangman” Adam Page, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

When Punk went to the back, The Young Bucks and Omega confronted him. This led to a melee backstage and several wrestlers were suspended.

Ace Steel was fired, with Punk, Omega and The Young Bucks still suspended. There is a chance they could be terminated.

As for Punk returning to WWE, it is an option. With Vince McMahon no longer running things, that could help matters.

According to Fightful’s paywall, Triple H has a better chance of brining Punk back than Vince.

“We spoke with WWE sources, who wouldn’t comment in an official capacity, but on background provided us with some insight,” the report stated. “They said that they didn’t think that Vince McMahon would have brought CM Punk in, especially after Brawl Out, and noted that Fox had pushed for it to happen before AEW signed him.”

“However, the line of thinking that was presented to us under the Triple H regime is that the right situation, right money and right creative can leave the door open for ‘anything within reason.’ One said Triple H wants to be a success and make compelling programming more than anything.”

AEW Might Buyout CM Punk Contract

“CM Punk back in WWE is compelling programming, but I can’t see it being a full-time deal like what he has in AEW, because of exactly what happened in AEW. That’s even if he as interest. If he gets a buyout he may not need to work again.”

There has been talk AEW may buyout Punk’s contract and they add a stipulation where he could no work for WWE for a lengthy time.

Punk famously walked away from WWE after the Royal Rumble in 2014. It was a combination of working while injured and being tired of WWE politics.

Since Triple H took charge, the WWE product has greatly improved. As for working with Punk again, that will take a lot of work.

During AEW Rampage, we learned that Penelope Ford is injured. She was set to face Willow Nightingale, but the announce team mentioned Ford was hurt not too long ago.

At the moment, we are still waiting to hear about the injury and how long she will be out.

She missed a good chunk of this year because of an injury. That occurred during a bloody, tag team street fight.

In August, Ford returned to TV. Mostly, she has been on Dark or Dark: Elevation alongside her husband, Kip Sabian.

Ford has been with AEW since the beginning. She has not been featured too heavily on TV, but remains under contact.

Considering AEW did not renew many deals of their original roster, Ford and Sabian should be happy. Stay tuned as we await news on the injury.
