The Guardian reported that adventurer Bear Grylls attended the Queen’s funeral to represent the Scouts. Grylls released a statement after the Queen’s passing saying that the scout family was “united in sorrow for the loss of our patron,” adding that she had left a “bright legacy of hope and promise for future generations.”

“The times I met her, the times she lit up the most, was whenever we did something Scouting,” Grylls said of the Queen after her death, according to Hello Magazine. “I think it was one of the organizations she was most proud to represent.”

“Chief Scout, @BearGrylls, will represent Scouts at State Funeral today and pay final respects to our Patron, HM The Queen. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family,” the Scouts announced on Twitter earlier in the day .

After the funeral, Grylls took to Twitter to say, “It’s a day we will never forget… a truly beautiful testament to our Nation’s Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Rest in Peace. Your duty done. Long Live King Charles…”

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
