Sources Claim Tom Brady And Gisele Bündchen’s Rocky Marriage Has ‘Nothing To Do With Football’

Over the past few weeks, rumors have swirled that the marriage of NFL star Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen is on the rocks over his decision to un-retire and return to professional football this season. Now, however, sources are speaking out to say that while the marriage is indeed on the rocks, it has “nothing to do with football.”

‘Nothing To Do With Football’

One source told Daily Mail that Gisele is Tom’s “number one cheerleader,” and that she wouldn’t care if he played until he’s in his 50s if that is what will make him happy, meaning that their issues have “nothing to do with football.” Even so, friction between the couple off the field has gotten so bad that they’ve been living separately for a month.

“The problems are not due to his decision to play football again — sometimes things are complicated,” another insider told Page Six, adding that speculation that their marriage is on the rocks because of his decision to keep playing is “sexist,” as it unfairly blames Gisele for their personal issues.

Gisele did not attend the Tampa Bay Buccaneers first home game yesterday, even though Tom had been “hopeful” that this would be the case. The couple’s three children — Jack, Benjamin, and Vivian — did appear on the field before the kickoff, however.

“Gisele continues to be dedicated to her kids and is working on personal projects,” a source told People Magazine of her absence. 

Gisele is believed to still be in New York City, where she has various projects and fashion shoots in the works at this time. Though neither of them have spoken publicly about their marital issues, Tom told reporters last month that due to “personal s—t” he was unable to attend 11 days of training camp.

Gisele Wants Tom To ‘Be More Present’

Earlier this month, Gisele told Elle Magazine that she’d like to see Tom “be more present” with their family.

“I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again,” she said. 

“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [Tom],” Gisele explained. “I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams.”

Gisele went on to say that she’s now ready to continue on with her work as a model and environmentalist, saying, “Now it’s going to be my turn.”

However, another source spoke out to defend Tom, saying that he makes plenty of time for his family.

“No other husband gets six months off a year to be totally devoted to just their family,” this source said. “And during the season, yes he travels for games and trains, but he’s with his family a lot too.”

‘They Live Separate Lives’ 

A different insider admitted that the couple have been living apart for “more than a month.”

“During the season, they live separate lives,” said the source.

Tom and Gisele have been married since 2009, so they’ve definitely seen by now that marriages have their ups and downs. We can only hope that they are able to get their marriage back on track after what has clearly been a very rough period for them.
