Hollywood star Harrison Ford became emotional over the weekend while talking about his upcoming final turn as the iconic Indiana Jones.

Ford Becomes Emotional

“Thank you for making these films such an incredible experience for all of us, giving the opportunity to us to make these films for you,” a visibly emotional Ford, 80, said on Saturday during surprise appearance at Disney’s D23 expo in Anaheim, California. Fox News reported that Ford had to pause to collect himself, and the crowd took that opportunity to cheer for him.

Ford revealed that co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge “is one of the reasons” why he is “very proud to say that [this new film] is fantastic.”

Choking up yet another time, the actor said, “‘Indiana Jones’ movies are about fantasy and mystery, but they’re also about heart. We have a really human story to tell, as well as a movie that will kick your a—.”

‘I Will Not Fall Down For You Again’

The outlet reported that Ford ended his speech by confirming that this would be the last time he plays Jones onscreen.

“This is it! I will not fall down for you again,” he said. “But thank you so much.”

USA Today reported that Indiana Jones 5, which was directed by James Mangold, is set to be released on June 30, 2023. The official title of the movie has yet to be announced.

“I had the time of my life” during the making of the upcoming film, Waller-Bridge said.

“And keeping up with this guy is exhausting,” she added, referring to Ford.

Ford Reunites With Former Co-Star

At this same event, Ford reunited with his former co-star Ke Huy Quan — who played Jones’ resourceful sidekick Short Round in the 1984 movie Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom — for the first time in 38 years. Quan recently returned to the spotlight by appearing in the hit movie Everything Everywhere All At Once, and he was also at the expo promoting other projects.

“‘I love you, Indy,'” Quan wrote in the caption, referring to a famous quote from their 1984 movie.

“Indiana Jones and Short Round reunited after 38 years,” he added.

Ford Is ‘A Monster Of A Man’

Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the villain in the new Indiana Jones movie, recently talked about what it was like to work with Ford.

“It is so top secret!” he said, as per The Express. “Every day of shooting felt like a real Indiana Jones film. It felt like going back to scratch. Everything looked like it. Harrison was there wearing his [Indiana Jones] clothes. It was just a brilliant experience.”

Mikkelsen had previously said that working with the Indiana Jones actor on the film’s set was a surprise, describing Ford as “a monster of a man.”

“It was the first time I met him, and he’s an insanely powerful person Not just as an actor, but physically. I remember the first day we were shooting, it was a night shoot, then we stopped at 5 a.m. — and then he got on his mountain bike and went biking for 50 kilometres. Harrison is a monster of a man, a very nice monster.”

It will be so fun to see Ford take on the role of Indiana Jones one final time next summer. We can’t wait to see how this movie turns out!
