Kamaru Usman Promises To ‘Bounce Back’ After Stunning Defeat

Kamaru Usman knows the consequences of fighting inside the Octagon.

Usman lost the UFC welterweight title to Leon Edwards in stunning fashion Saturday night at UFC 278. Leading in the fifth and final round, Usman got caught by a head-kick.

“Champs (expletive) up sometimes,” he posted on Twitter, “but we bounce back and come with vengeance.”

During the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White stated that he would like to set the third bout up for London. Usman holds a decision win over Edwards from before he became the champion.

Even in defeat, Usman gave Edwards his props for the performance.

“Damn I love this sport,” he posted. “Things happen but….Alhamdulillah we move. Congratulations (Edwards).”
