Jane Fonda Reveals Major Regret At 84 – ‘I’m Not Proud’

As we all know, the Hollywood star Jane Fonda has made plenty of mistakes in her life (Hanoi Jane, anyone?), but there is one regret that she has above all others that may surprise you.

‘I’m Not Proud’

In a new interview with Vogue, Fonda, 84, said that she regrets getting plastic surgery, saying that she will never go under the knife again because she “doesn’t want to look distorted.”

“I had a facelift and I stopped because I don’t want to look distorted,” Fonda said. “I’m not proud of the fact that I had one.” 

“Now, I don’t know if I had it to do over if I would do it,” she added. “But I did it. I admit it, and then I just say, okay, you can get addicted. Don’t keep doing it. A lot of women, I don’t know, they’re addicted to it.”

Daily Mail reported that Fonda allegedly had her first facelift in her 40s, and her second in 2010. She went on to say that she doesn’t spend much money on face creams, claiming that laughter is better for the skin.

“I don’t do a lot of facials,” she said. “I don’t spend a lot of money on face creams or anything like that, but I stay moisturized, I sleep, I move, I stay out of the sun, and I have good friends who make me laugh. Laughter is a good thing too.”

Fonda Says Aging Shouldn’t Be Scary

Fonda also said that aging does not have to be scary, adding that she wants to advocate for more positivity surrounding the process of getting older. 

“I want young people to stop being afraid about getting older. What matters isn’t age, isn’t that chronological number. What matters is your health,” she explained.

Fonda went on to say that her father, the Oscar-winning actor Henry Fonda, died of heart disease when he was “six years younger than she is now.”

“I’m almost 85, but I don’t seem that old,” Fonda said. “So getting young people to stop being afraid of being old, helping people realize that just because you’re a certain age doesn’t mean you have to give up on life.”

‘I Thank The Goddesses’

Fonda concluded by saying that she’s grateful for the health that she has at her age.

“I mean, every day when I get out of a car, I thank the goddesses that I have strong thighs, that I’ve worked out to keep strong thighs,” she said.

Fonda previously opened up about aging in an interview with Glamour back in May.

“When you get older, you realize that staying healthy is joyful and critical because age isn’t so much chronology,” she said at the time. “You can be very old at 84, which is my age, but you can also be very young.”

Jane Fonda Has Other Things To Regret

Unfortunately, Fonda is not only known for acting. She is also infamous in many circles as a radically liberal political activist who earned herself the nickname Hanoi Jane with what many saw as her anti-American actions during the Vietnam War.

Now that’s something she ought to regret.

“According to international law, these men are war criminals,” Fonda said. “They should be tried in front of a court and probably executed for what they did.”
