Fans of the sitcom “Reba,” which ran from 2001 to 2007, will be ecstatic to learn that the country music legend Reba McEntire is speaking out this week to say that she is determined to reboot it!

McEntire Wants ‘Reba’ Reboot

“We’ve really been trying hard to do a reboot of the Reba show,” said McEntire, 67, according to People Magazine. “I really want to work with the people that I got to work with during that six and a half years.”

McEntire went on to talk about the show’s beloved cast, which included Christopher Rich playing Reba’s ex-husband Brock Enroll Hart and Melissa Peterman portraying his new girlfriend-turned-wife Barbra Jean Hart.

‘Reba’ Co-Star Speaks Out

This comes months after JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who played Reba’s oldest daughter Cheyenne Montgomery on the sitcom, said that she would love to reboot the show while being interviewed on The Art of Kindness podcast.

“She’s so powerful because she walks the walk,” Swisher, 42, said of McEntire. “I get so excited when people ask me how she is. I’ll happily go on glowingly about this woman. She’s so strong even in uncertain moments, and she’s super grateful and gracious and kind.”

“I really wouldn’t take her in a dogfight,” she added. “Don’t underestimate her. She’s so strong. But I think she would win that dogfight not by beating the crap out of you. She would [with], you know, love. She’s just a really special human.”

When asked if she would like to see “Reba” come back, Swisher replied, “Are you kidding me? We’d love to do [a reboot]!”

McEntire And Peterman’s Lifetime Movie

McEntire and her “Reba” co-star Peterman, 50, are preparing to reunite in the Lifetime movie “The Hammer,” in which they will be playing sisters who find themselves entangled in a death investigation. Based on a true story, Lifetime said that this movie will follow “firecracker lawyer” Kim Wheeler (McEntire) as she is appointed judge of the 5th District of Nevada after the reigning judge dies under circumstances that are deemed to be suspicious.

The case takes a shocking turn when Kim’s sister Kris (Peterman), who runs a local brothel, is named a prime suspect in the death of the former judge. This means that “Kim must work even harder to make certain the appropriate justice is served,” according to a statement released by Lifetime.

The movie also stars McEntire’s real-life boyfriend Rex Linn, who will play “a mysterious cowboy with unknown motives.” This is McEntire’s second collaboration with Lifetime, with her first being last year’s “Reba McEntire’s Christmas in Tune,” which she both starred in and executive produced.

Here’s hoping that they soon find themselves working together again on the “Reba” reboot that we would all love to see!
