Vince McMahon Steps Down As WWE CEO, Stephanie Named Interim

Vince McMahon has stepped down as WWE CEO, while he is investigated for hush money. Therefore, Stephanie McMahon is the Interim Chairwoman.

Vince McMahon Steps Down As WWE CEO

WWE is known to shake-things up and they did just that this morning. The top head of WWE now looks very familiar and they are named McMahon, but it is not Vince.

Instead, Stephanie McMahon is back with WWE. She has been named interim WWE CEO and Chairwoman of the Board.

Vince wrote:

“I have pledged my complete cooperation to the investigation by the Special Committee, and I will do everything possible to support the investigation. I have also pledged to accept the findings and outcome of the investigation, whatever they are.”

Vince McMahon has currently found himself in a ton a trouble. The Wall Street Journal published an article about hush-money used to payoff an employee.

So far, the investigation believes they have evidence Vince slept with a paralegal and gave her $3 million and also a raise to keep silent. For those wondering, Vince and his wife Linda McMahon remain married, but have not been together for sometime.

Some say Vince will survive this like he has with many investigations. Although, times have changed and he might not be so lucky.

Despite taking a leave of absence, Vince remains in charge of WWE creative. Hence, he should still be a regular figure backstage during TV.

Stephanie McMahon took an indefinite hiatus from WWE within the last month. At the time, she noted wanted to focusing on family and other projects.

We will have to wait and see what the independent legal counsel finds. They will at least look into the company’s compliance program, HR function and overall culture.

Stephanie might not be going anywhere for a long=time. That depends on how long the investigation will take.

For over 40 years, Vince has always been the head of WWE. Now, he is dealing with, if true, the fallout of his own mistakes.

Vince can and may keep his spot after all is said and done. Still, the damage from the allegations might too much for Vince to remain the boss of WWE.

The one person likely to lose their job is John Laurinaitis. He was aware what was happening and seemed to be helping Vince, instead of the woman.
